I would want to get Zetterlund with as much term as possible. He’s such a good complementary forward.

I'd like to get them both on a deal with term although if I had to pick one it would be Zetterlund as well.

Of course every GM wants to get their good players signed, but you can't just will it to happen. There has to be some give and take. Otherwise you wind up with the situation we see in Toronto.

Bratt really only had a breakout season last year, though his underlying numbers were good. I can understand the discrepancy between Fitz and Bratt over his value coming off that.

Beyond that, as I type this out I realize that I've already had a bit too much to drink tonight so I'm gonna slow it down and leave it at that. I'm still optimistic a deal gets worked out - I think Bratt wants to stay here and I know Fitz wants him here long-term. LGD!

Right but ‘this year’ wasn’t a factor in any previous negotiation cause it didn’t happen before Bratt signed the one year deal. It will no doubt factor in by January though.

We wear the new RR jerseys four times and only twice at home. They specifically chose original Patrick Division teams.

It took me f***ing forever to find the 3rd jersey schedule. I’ve actually tried to find it before and rage quit after failing.

I finally found it at Devils PR: Official Home of the New Jersey Devils Communications Department (at Wordpress lol) and everyone at home there can go f*** themselves for making this information so god damn hard for fans to find.

Zetterlund deserves it 100%, a bit surprised about Boqvist, who despite good skating, isn't good enough offensively and defensively to have a long NHL career. We will see though.

Regarding Johnsson, he has looked solid on a strong Toronto team so maybe he can be 0.5 ppg on this team in top six role (while pushing Haula to bottom six) or maybe he can look acceptable on the 4th line.

Haula is a better top 6 player and better point producer. I belive Ruff wants to balance his lines but I can't imagine he will use Johnsson from injury reserve as a complimentary player for Jack.

So with respect to Zetterlund and Sharangovich, do we bridge them or try to get them to sign one of these 8 year 4 million deals or something?

Trade one for 3rd round pick and second one for 5th. Don't lose asset value. Save money, pay 13.5 mil for Bratt.

I don't see how it's ridiculous at all. Ultimately it's the GM's job to sign good players. If he doesn't accomplish that, it's on the GM.

And no. Fitz should hand him a blank cheque for anything under 8 figures x 8 years. Just pay him.

Bratt has two long term offers. It was on his side, it is on his side, and it will. Fitz signed everybody before, noone was the pain in the vss. Only one guy with special agent. If Bratt wants more - its ok. Its a way how he can gain more money. But Fitz couldn't give him 7.5 mil two years ago, or 9 mil past summer. If he think he is 11 mil player now, he can think this way. The question is, does Fitz think the same way.
And Bratt isn't the only player with "same" situation in the league.

Yeah. Sadly only 4 games they will he wearing it. 2 on the road and 2 at home. Not sure why they opted to wear it twice on the road , especially since the Flyers RR is a white jersey so they can't both wear them against one another. Maybe the team might add a future game or two. I think the Devils and Islanders are the only 2 teams to not have worn their RR jersey yet this season. Boston has worn theirs like 5 times already.

Although the 3rd jersey grew in me since last year (not enough to really want buy one) , I wish they scheduled us to wear the RR jersey more than 4 games. We only wear it twice at home which is kind of a bummer. Would be cool if it became our 3rd jersey next year but I don't think the team would want to adopt a complete set or new colors for an alternate jersey. Glad i order my RR jersey even if it's only for 4 games this season , still think it looks good enough to buy 100%. Cash grab or not.

Bratt has done more than enough to prove what he's worth. Fitz committed to Jack very early and before he'd broken out. Bratt has shown what he can do. Put some faith in him and just give him the money.

Let me ask you if he's asking for 11.5 per he should just give it to him?....I am a big Bratt fan and want him here LT but at the right price for both....He should fall between 7 and 8 per imo what he gets who knows , but if a deal can't be made by end of season or in the summer they will have to trade him...

Boqvist has improved his all around game imo....If his confidence continues to grow I think we will all be surprised....Read somewhere that Fitz was high on him....No doubt he has the wheels....
