How is Nico supposed to avoid the situations/plays that have gotten him injured though? Dive out of the way every time a shot comes near him? Never block a shot or play in the "dirty" areas where injuries are more likely to occur? Play wrapped up from head to toe in bubble wrap?
don't leave the coffin. stay there and stay save.

Maybe he thinks that losing Huberdeau will cripple them more than adding Tkachuk helps? Definitely a strange take.

His take on the Senators is even stranger. As much as they've improved, I don't think Ottawa is making the playoffs yet, and they certainly won't be ahead of the Panthers.
I think the Panthers will make the playoffs, but here is what I think could cause them to miss the playoffs if they do.

Bobrovsky overachieved last year relative to what he is in 2022 at now 34 years old. It was a step up from his two years before that. His first two years in Florida were bad, but I think we all knew this was going to become one of the worst contracts in the league pretty early on.

Spencer Knight was just okay. Nothing great, but not bad. Just breaking even. He probably shouldn't have been rushed to the NHL so early. If he's ready to take over the brunt of games and do a good job while taking over them, I think they'll be just fine in the case of a Bobrovsky regression. And he was rushed to the NHL because he kind of had to be. The Panthers need a CHEAP goalie because of the Bobrovsky contract. So it's either Spencer Knight or some career AHL jabroni like Charlie Lindgren, who the Caps just had to sign to be the backup for 3 years because they're capped out.

With how much they scored last year, they could have gotten the Bobrovsky of the two years before that and still quite easily made the playoffs by quite a bit, but they wouldn't have won the Presidents Trophy or division.

They are certainly a worse team. Lost a top pair dman too and they definitely overachieved last season.

Paul Maurice is also quite the downgrade behind the bench to Quenneville (piece of shit human being, great head coach) and it's hard to say if he is or isn't a downgrade to Andrew Brunette, only because Andrew Brunette has only been a head coach in the NHL for about 75 games.

But I can't see Maurice making them any better, although it's hard to be any better than they were last year to begin with.

I really need to say it again.

Ryan Graves will not be here anymore once we’re a powerhouse.

Unless we’re a powerhouse this year. He’s a pretty easy pass on signing beyond this year.
you don't learn?

ryan graves is 6'6 and 220 pounds. but go out and seek to get physically assaulted

My wife loves to do this same thing, especially in the middle of the night. Then doesn't wash the spoon and throws it in the dishwasher, which then doesn't fully clean it. Major pet peeve, but I love her and accept it.
most definitely you do. i mean she loves the taste of nuts.

Do GMs have the equivalent of a TurboTax to deal with all this stuff?

I think this is all correct - Not sure who this guy is, but he seems to know what he's talking about and is followed by Novo and Hradek.

The fun part is none of the details around LTIR are in the CBA so that’s why you need a ringer from Cap Friendly to (sort of) explain it.

I briefly went in the Cap maw early this off-season.

I found a discussion on the main board using the Leafs trade for Clarkson’s LTIR contract and how they used it to help sign one of their big deals as an example. Then someone jumped in and said the NHL changed some of the rules since then.

That’s when I quit lol. If the NHL were going to modify the unspoken rules I barely understood in the first place (if I want to be very generous to myself lol)… f*** that noise.

I really can't stand nuts.

They're the stupidest food calorie wise. Two handfuls of peanuts and I'm up like 500-600 calories. I could have ate a big piece of pie or cake with that many calories and felt much more satisfied. I'm more about calories than health or anything else, as that's what I use to be able to maintain my weight. So I'm looking to eat the most satisfying thing I can with my calories and nuts, as well as drinks with calories, are just not cutting it for me.

I do enjoy indulging in a Pay Day bar when I get some candy bars though.

I like the taste of nuts, by the way, but for caloric purposes they are just an absolute waste for me.

Oh, crap - what the hell is Johnsson doing on the PK unit? He should be packing for Utica.

Guessing maybe it's just for practice against the PP and the guys on PP & PK will fill those spots in the games.

confirdence booster for the pp units

Yeah, the whole performance bonus stuff really threw me for a loop. Seems relatively simple enough though that we're more or less covered this season for Nemec or any other PB's by having him on the opening roster. His higher salary, along with Thompson's salary from being on IR, also seem to help.

At the very least, it seems to give us flexibility to bring up players as injuries happen throughout the season while Bernier remains on LTIR.

The Devils analytics department must be “poppin” bottles over these projections.

Like I said before, most media outlets are having a field day with these projections.

NHL radio: Devils are too small….well they got size on the back end…Myles Wood is back and Palat was a nice signing.. Jack Hughes is too small and weak. That’s what I meant, the offense is too small?!
