Defense was better after the 1st, well, at least definitely NOT like Nashvillle game.

One of the better back and forth games (without the excessive scoring) we've seen in awhile. Very level for 2 teams. Felt like a playoff game.

Really happy to see a goalie on our team that gets pissed off when opponents start crossing bounds. He dishes out shit when he feels they cross a line. Fights for himself/team visibly. Not just about the Benn stuff, other games he will push or swipe even mid play. Havent seen that on this team from a goalie in awhile. Kinkaid maybe was last goalie that did that a little bit.

And he doesnt go full Binnington.

Rest will do this team wonders. How many OT wins in a row now? Not necessarily a “great” thing, but they’re finding ways to win. Hughes is an absolute force. THE Vitek is unreal too

But that's probably something NJ wish they had for Hughes/Nico come playoffs, imagine what the idiot Trouba is going to try to pull if we match with the Rags round 1. He already almost tried to put Nico in a wheelchair this year and missed. Kinda hoping Brendan Smith puts Trouba in his place game 1.

What a difference good goaltending makes. We wanted league-average and got WAY more than we were expecting from Vitek. Big points to Fitz for that acquisition.

Siegenthaler being so shitty really is a problem

Dougie already not the best on his own zone and now Sieg has been a giveaway machine, terrible development for our blueline. Hopefully, with some days of rest he can get back on track.

Yes apparently you did if you're perplexed as to why a good amount of people here (who don't make excuses) would rather have Schmid (who had another shutout last night, I believe) over Blackwood.

I mean...Blackwood was immediately re-inserted into the lineup when he returned from injury and Schmid was sent back automatically because.....reasons.

At that point, Schmid had shown he could be a very effective #2 to Vitek but screw him apparently because.....Blackwood.

The Tkatchuk-Huberdeau deal was the big ticket trade in the off-season, but in terms of turning a team around none has had more impact than Fitz trading for The Vitek. Total robbery.

Good, let them say that. They're mostly likely gonna land a winger for Hughes which will make life hell for any team that plays them round 1. Play the body on Hughes and someone like Meier or Horvat will wreck that team,
