I haven't said it on here yet, but I was almost 100% sure Zajac was gone after this season. I thought for sure after he saw his friend Parise test the UFA waters and get paid BIG TIME, he was going to head to Winnipeg and also get the payday.

Boy was I wrong, and in this instance I am more than happy about it.

I think this shows Zajac's loyalty is to Lou and the Devils. EIGHT years. Wow. And for 5.75 per? Not bad for a first line center, awesome news all around. Now we just need Lou to grab us another forward and we'll be golden.

A) we couldn`t afford to lose him.
B) Lou`s schedule will be crazy this summer no matter what happens.
