Was never the same after his injury. He lost a step when he already lacked speed. Maybe the Devils can turn another ex Coyote into a serviceable dman like they did with Moore and Schlemko.

Moore was pretty good on the Rangers, showed some nice potential.

Moore was not so good on the Coyotes. Hence why they didn't qualify him.

Moore was a solid #3 defenseman for the Devils last season. Though I think Moore should be a 4/5 defenseman. But he played as the #3 last year behind Larsson and Greene. And he did pretty well, but if the Devils wanna go anywhere in the playoffs John Moore shouldn't be averaging the third most ice time among defenseman. He should be 4th or 5th.


If Gormley can play on the powerplay and be the 6th defenseman, I'd say this signing is a success.
