back in the 1970s and 1980s Creem was a rock music publication in New York. It was never Rolling Stone but had a different coverage focus and had its own following. It was pretty good in my teenage years. That's the only place I ever saw "Boy Howdy" as a slogan and it reminded me of the magazine.
