Thought a couple nice chances came off Dahlin in the offensive zone. NAK-Lafferty-Malenstyn did what we thought they would, also had the best chance of the period and Beck gave up the body to block a shot.

Beyond that, eh.

The core guys looked largely the same. Not much of a forecheck. Some dumb turnovers. The defense looked lost.

I think the checkjng line was ok for being a 4th line. UPL did what he could.

All defensemen sucked sadly.

Dahlin was making plays early on. Benson was working. The 4th line, outside of the penalty, looked to be doing their job. The rest all seemed to range from mediocre to dumbassery.

I think that NJ with last change is getting the line matches they want. Sabres controlled play for a good 5 or 6 minutes before the first commercial break, then NJ came out after and made adjustments.

We'll see if Ruff changes anything for the second period, or sticks with his lines/pairings.

He's not talented enough to compete with the top centers in the league and his defense is kind of meh.

Yeah, we got good opportunities too. The score is far more one-sided than the play was. Tage had an early shot that was just wide but would've been a goal if he'd hit his target (Markstrom moving the opposite way). I'm not quite ready to give up on the entire season because of 1/3 of a game that could've easily ended with a different score than it did.

I was just thinking about how much I missed Skinners effort in the offensive zone.

A player who had one great season and hasn't otherwise scored over 70 points. Sorry but I still see Tage as someone who apart from one season hasn't shown he's a 1C.

I think his point is that UPL made two great saves as well so we'd be at 4-2
