Markstrom is not an average goaltender this year. He’s very much below average. Allen on the other hand is above average goaltending.

I'm not a hater but the last game and this one has been a pretty negatively impacting goaltending game.

It's only average in regards to the league average save percentage.

That has more to do with the way we play this year. As the leader of ''Our goalies suck!'' brigade last year, they had lower expected save percentages than this year's team does. Whether that's Keefe, upgrades on defense, system, team defense, whatever. This year's goalies are facing easier work than last year's.

Markstrom wouldn't be last year's Vitek bad if we were as bad as last year, but he'd probably be closer than you think and he'd probably be about where Daws was last year.

I don't think we'll get shutout again, but I'm not optimistic about coming back, if only because Markstrom may be due to give up some goals that aren't bad.

4 of the last 5 on him were pretty bad. He's due to give up a goal or two that he probably has no chance on.
