I really believe the only reason him and Gionta were brought back was because of 2012. Lou can't move on.

For me, a very demoralizing draft and off-season. The Devils got even older up front. Gionta is like middle-aged on this roster. Yeah, I think they will be tough on defense but if Jagr regresses even a little, this team is toast.
Let this sink in:
Jagr = 42
Elias = 38
Zubrus = 36
Ryder = 34
Havlat = 33
Cammo = 32
Clowe = 31
Ruutue = 31
Of the forwards, they have 4 players under 30. Let that sink in.
Brunner (28), Zajac (29), Bernier (29) and Henrique (24). That's it and really, Henrique is the only young player and Bernier is 29 going on 40.
3 dmen are 31 or older. 3 of 6, none of whom get benched are 31, 37, and 38.
Seriously, who builds a team THAT old. You're bound to see attrition and injury. I love Lou but holy crap.

His paycut tells me that not too many other NHL teams were interested, if any at all.
My diarrhea MIGHT go away as long as I NEVER EVER have to see him play with Elias or in the top 6 AGAIN!

After getting depressed that the Devils tossed $600K at this hot, heapful of garbage, this was a good laugh to play!
This signing took the spot/time away from JJ, Matteau and/or Cam. All three I prefer over Bernier.
Christmas came early this year for Steve.

The line was a significant part of why we got to the finals in 2012, provided for some of our only offensive support in 2013, and struggled as did the rest of the offense in 2014
