Which is strange considering his strength and speed. Kreider never PK’d up until this season under Gallant and voila he was one of the best PKers in the league. Wood would be a good PKer

Reminds me of a story that Bill Guerin told recently about Mike Keenan using him on the PK relatively late in his career when he was in Boston. Guerin joked that he had no idea what he was doing but had a ton of fun doing it. Looks like Keenan got canned after that season and Robbie Ftorek took Guerin off PK duties.

I don't know whether or not Grabner was actually competent at killing penalties or just a short handed opportunity creator, but I kind of imagine Wood in a similar vein if he were to be on the PK (assuming the speed sticks)

Just let him go to arbitration at this point (I doubt it will), as that's better than a 2 year deal for $6 million or whatever.

Really don't want him for 2 years, unless the deal is for like $4 million or so.

I really don't think I want him even for cheap for 2 years right now, as his health/effectiveness isn't favorable.
