Yeah, he's a better player than the typical go fast, score goal 4th liner in terms of game impact if for no other reason than his speed makes the defense play honest. Problem is I don't know how you can be confident he'll be that player again.

Yeah, his hip being possibly shot negates his best asset. Dude's the anti Clarkson, kinda wild how Wood became a Devil right after Clarkson too.

Somebody in the NJ office is getting ahed of themselves and doesn't understand a positive discussion about a number is not the same thing as a contract. This is twice now a contract was floated this offseason. I'm among those who thinks that brattpack guy was told something by someone. Nobody wants to look like that much of a fool by doubling down the way did with absolutely no sources. Now Weekes gets fooled. The team needs to plug that leak.

No, it is that waxy paper roll fax and it jammed. It was the one Lou bought from Overstock.com before he left. Somebody has to open all the panels up to get to the jammed spot.

Thanks for this. I'm going to have nightmares tonight about stripping off those stupid side bits with the holes and ripping every sheet in half.

Zoomers don't know how easy they got it I tells ya.

If he was healthy this season I guarantee he would’ve received a 1st round pick or equal value

the fax machine is out of paper

I still have PTSD from when my dad (who has a master's in electrical engineering) bought me a fax machine in college because I was struggling with my intro to EE classes. He wanted me to fax my homework if only so he could shame me for not understanding.

There was one NHL trade that got rejected due to fax machine problems. It's too bad that Wanvig didn't pan out or else that would have been a more famous story.

Well that's disappointing.. I was hoping he would sign a 2year contract below the arbitration offer, something like 2y x 2.5. Well as long as it's less than 3.2m for next season it's fine.

Guys like Lehkonen/Coleman played on the PK which amplified their value. Wood's never really seen a ton of PK time with us.

I guess I’ve memory holed this but I didn’t realize that Wood actually had solid underlying numbers when he was last healthy.

One of favorite things about the new charts on HockeyViz is it’s a new look at Wood’s gigantic, defensive implosion in 2019-20. He went meh to having pretty much the worst numbers in the NHL.

Yes, worse than Kakko’s, but in the new charts, you can see it’s comparatively just this weird shorter plunge into hell.

Also, straight up volume shooters and finishing always have a stormy relationship lol.

Weeksie should probably call Doc Emerick in 4 hours if the Wood (rumor) doesn’t settle down 🥁
I was on a "couples" fishing trip a few years ago and after the fishing we sat down to have a few drink and this guy is telling me about how much viagra he bought at the Pharmacia in Mexico.

I guess I looked at him strangely cause he goes "What...Aren't you around 50? Everyone that age needs a little boost"

I looked at my wife. My wife looked at him and said "No boost needed"

His wife made a phone sign with her hand and mouthed the words call me ... We all laughed.

But this guy has been calling me "Hot Rod" for the last 3 years whenever I see him.

I believe Weekes jumped the gun or got bad info, I’m unconvinced that the BrattPack schmuck had any sources beyond his ass and thin air. And I thought he ended up admitting that he didn’t even have inside info?

This isn’t the first time Weekes has deleted a tweet though, he’s been wrong before. It going to happen because he’s racing to beat… Friedman? There isn’t a ton of competition for the NHL’s poor man’s version of Adam Schefter.

I actually predicted this early on, but that’s typically the kiss of death, so this announcement still shocked me.

Which is strange considering his strength and speed. Kreider never PK’d up until this season under Gallant and voila he was one of the best PKers in the league. Wood would be a good PKer
