A couple of questions - 1) What the hell was Hagelin doing on the 2nd Carter goal? Hagelin had position, and yet he allowed Carter to beat him to the puck. 2) Why are people missing Stepan getting caught out of position on the GWer? Zucc went to Jagr, and Stepan, instead of staying with Zajac, got caught in no man's land.

Frustrating game...still not understanding why the whistle was blown when Gelinas got hit with the puck.

stepan? dont you mean mcdonagh?

Don't like Del Zotto on the right side. First goal was DZ not getting the puck out. Second goal was just weak on Henrik's part. The third goal McDonagh got caught--Girardi blocked the shot and McDonagh kicked the rebound back in front of the net.

Rangers had some sloppy moments. They have a hard time with teams that clog up the boards.

Dorsett gets a shot in the face--on the pk--no whistle. Gelinas gets a shot in the face--immediate whistle. ******* devils fan going on about Gelinas. No one cares here.

Brodeur was really good. Henrik had his moments but even the first Carter goal was a stoppable play--the second was a disaster. Faceoffs cost us a lot--hurt our pwp for sure. Overall it was a lackluster effort.

Call it a vendetta if you want. I HATE the way Dan Girardi plays defense. I think it's the dumbest style you can play, causes more damage than good, and is only applicable to a player that doesn't skate well and has a low hockey IQ which pretty much describes Girardi to a T.

People around here love sacrifice. They love shot blocking. It may be admirable but it's 50/50 proposition that is responsible for as many goals as it prevents, and blocking a shot must be done with extreme discretion which Girardi has none of. If it's in the air, he's leaping at it. He doesn't think about anything else at all, particularly how his goaltender is positioned. It's irritating.
You can hate the way he plays all you want. Doesn't matter to me. However it absolutely does not mean he has a low hockey IQ. In fact he makes plenty of plays that are a result from good reads. Sure I do agree he blocks more shots, or has to, because of his weak skating ability.

Regardless, the disturbing part is you fail to acknowledge that play in general was at the fault of McDonagh. [MOD]

Back in the 2012 playoffs against the Sens in OT of game 2, McDonagh got hit with a shot right in the Ryan Jr's and was incapacitated essentially giving the Sens a powerplay. Play went on and they scored. So this one stings a little more.

pouliot with less than 10 minutes on the ice and some more braindead play. miller and mashinter with 5 mins on the ice. be interesting to see what happens when nash and moore are back.

Going to give props where they are due: The Devils did their homework tonight; something the Rangers never seem to do.

They were incredibly aggressive on the penalty kill, and it crippled us. Our powerplay may be better, but some of our guys just don't think the game at a high level. They need time to make their decisions, and the Devils knew that.

Hagelin was at the end of a shift so he was gassed. To be honest, I'm more upset with Girardi on that play. Knowing Hagelin is at the end of a shift, he should have came over to help Hagelin out and erase Carter. Instead he backed off (don't really know why either because there was no one on the other side) and let Carter get the angle to get the shot off.

The initial break was McDonagh's fault but he came back and broke up the play. If Girardi leaves well enough alone instead of jumping in front of that shot, Hank catches a pee wee backhander and nobody is even talking about that play right now.

Hockey is a team sport. Very rarely is something one guy's fault. But that play was done until Girardi blocked the puck.

Brodeur was on fire as well. Played a great game.

refs gave the debs the game... hank left in a soft one of course cuz he can't be clutch in the regular season... I'm more angry cuz we lost to the devils!... must win against Canadians hope they show up and for the love of God we need nash!!

That team that was being called an ECHL team the other night ,yea the Panthers, just beat arguably the best team in the league right now in the Ducks. **** happens, move on to the next one.

stepan did a **** job on the goal. he was just standing at the opposing blueline when jagr had the puck. he shud have started skating back to be in good defensive position.

Jagr likely doesn't get the pass to Zajac if Stepan doesn't get caught in between.

This isn't just one game though. This **** happens often against the Devils.

Of course Lundqvist isn't free of blame either. He doesn't miss a beat on his obligatory weak goal against the Devils.

But it is just one game. Yea yea theyre our rivals blah blah blah, I get it. Ultimately its just one game. Not to mention take a look at the ROW right now. Were 2nd in ROW by 1 game to the Pens. I like our chances going forward, especially getting our best scorer back very soon.

McDonagh did not come back and break up the play. He created a 2-on-1 for the Devils. What McD did was create a scramble to get back to even up the rush, while not having any bit good positioning, only allowing him to put some pressure as he backchecked. He never fully got back into a position to make it a 2-on-2. They should've never been in that situation. 3 minutes left, don't make a stupid decision in the offensive zone or the neutral zone. McDonagh made a bad decision. Stop blaming G.

If you don't know who the better team was tonight you should stop watching hockey.. P.S. It was the team that lost.

Where are our big strong tough guys anyways?
Snookarellah gets in uncle daddys face, gets a roughing penalty etc. Where are our 6 ft whatevers?
Our team is soft, but in all the wrong places.

Hank your beautiful, but tonight you didn't cut it
