Add Tuch to that list since Vegas’ cap situation is a joke

Vegas will look at multiple other options before moving Tuch cause of cap issues. I'd not be surprised if they moved Smith and their first for a guy on an ELC for example, or trade Smith + Holden + 1st for nothing.

Mantha would’ve been a good option but Washington jumped on that opportunity, Laine remains my top choice and maybe someone like Boeser can be an interesting option as well if Vancouver is having issues cap wise.

Those are just guys that came up off the top of my head but I’m sure there’s a couple of other players that would fill that need as well as our timeline.
Mantha would be a resounding f*** no from me. Boeser I would be interested in as well as Laine but the price has to be right.

Bratt and a first for Mantha would have been terrible for us.

Mantha hardly produces more in his career than Bratt has so far. And Mantha turns 27 before the start of next season, while Bratt will only be 23.

Oh no, not that horrible 30 year old phantom benchmark where players turn to turds.

As for his stats, I don’t even want to know what Bratt’s stats would’ve looked like if he was playing in Detroit with the pile of hot garbage they’ve had there for the past 5 years.

True, while Bratt was playing on a great team, probably even a contender, all those years.

Who talked about playing for a contender? I was referring to his shit line mates but yeah, feel free to take an uneducated jab.

Outside of Larkin, I’m sure you couldn’t name me 2 players on that horrible Detroit team.

(Feel free to search it up on Internet to prove me wrong)

I think Mantha is just another Tom Wilson without the dirty nature. I wouldn't trade Bratt for Wilson.

That comparison is just flawed. Mantha has been scoring goals his entire career and in Detroit, hasn’t had the good fortune of playing with All-Star talent such as Backstrom, Kuz, Oshie, Vrana and Ovy. When Dylan Larkin and Tyler Bertuzzi are your two best linemates, your numbers are going to be pretty marginal.

I don't think very highly of him regardless of his linemates. He doesn't do enough for me personally besides be big and an above average goal scorer to trade Bratt for.

How is Bratt inconsistent or considered as trade bait here? He’s been great this season. Doesn’t he have like 18 points in his last 18 games?

He’s a good playmaker for us, why do people want him gone? I didn’t read everything so just wondering.

Wait a minute.

Detroit hasn’t really been that much worse than us (if even worse at all) over the last 5 combined years.

I mean, some of you people act like our team is so terrible (which is the truth), but then you’ll use another terrible team as a pass for a player not hitting their full potential?

If you’re gonna argue that Detroit has stifled Mantha, you could just as easily argue that this team has stifled Bratt’s prediction.

There's just 2, maybe 3 posters here that just seem to hate his guts. One even says to leave him unprotected in the expansion draft, but doubts he'd be picked.

The main argument is that he is small and you can't be a small player and succeed in the post season. It is one thing to want to add size to the line up or add a goal scorer. But wanting to just replace Bratt doesn't make any sense.

We're already having the Bratt-Laine discussion in one thread (and probably the wrong one at that).

We’re as bad as Detroit but we have better players then they’ve iced in the past 5 years. It’s a pretty easy concept to grasp when analyzing both teams.
