The Devils scored some nice goals tonight and Markstrom was awesome in goal !!! We do owe the posts a few beers after they bailed us out on numerous occasions though.

The Devils also had some bad stretches of play where Florida dominated possession/scoring chances but thankfully they found a way to get it done. Alot of key saves , shot blocks & good defending were on display tonight. Florida in my opinion is the best team we have played all season so far and it was pretty clear tonight why. Beating them back to back games on the road is a tall order but the Devils are halfway there already. Thursdays game should be a good one.

God, I picked a hell of a night to miss a game.

The scoring chances generated being something like 50-20 Cats halfway through is terrifying, but it sounds like the worst of it was like the first few minutes of the first and second.

Some of those goals, gyat damn...

General consensus among Panthers fans is that “the Devils will never get close to the Cup, they don't score the right type of goals, the refs missed half a dozen blatant calls against them" etc.

So we must have done something right, lmao

Their forum is always very sour on NJ and NJDs More sour than other forums on here.

We did something right last night...for sure

There were some scary moments in the beginning of the 1st two periods.

We also killed a 5 on 3 near the end of one of them. That was pretty good.

Jack got us up when it seemed like the slant was against us. we had 4 shots or something they had 12.

Also Mercer missed like 2 quality chances. A breakaway, another intight play (one from Luke and one from Nico. Palat missed a great chance too from Jack. Game was not bad at all.

Watching the highlights, it looks like the post was the star of the game for us. I'll take it.

While they hit the post almost a handful of times (one was the outside of the post), Markstrom deserves full credit for a stellar performance. He really kept us in it in the areas where Florida really had us on our heels.

Despite that as well, I thought we really played a strong final 30 minutes of the game. At one point, I think the shots were 3:1 (21-7 for Florida) around when they tied the game. After that, we flipped the shots for the rest of the period. And the 3rd period was a great effort all around by the team defensively.

This was a really, really good road victory against the hottest team in the league and defending Stanley Cup champs. Hard not to be satisfied with this one.

Well, in fairness I’m guessing at best only 50% of them have actually been watching hockey for longer than three years.

Want to shoutout the Siegs play leading to the Cotter goal. Rodrigues tries a spinorama move and Siegs just eliminates him. Dougie then gets the puck to Nico who finds Cotter and there’s your insurance. Just a beautiful piece of physical defending

And right before that he turned the puck over and immediately responded shutting down the Panthers rush. It was as if he gave the puck away to stunt on them

He also made a phenomenal play to intercept Tkachuk's pass that lead to Timo's goal to give us the lead back.

I'm so proud of Siegs after the trying year he had last year. He has been fantastic this season so far.

Not sure why I’m jumping in but I will say I’d prefer a functional 4th line over have McDeterrent lumber around but Dowling is also part of the problem.

Carolina runs four good fast lines and is carving up the NHL with them. Guys like Dillon and Noesen make McPunchy face redundant to me.

The Islander game was the only time he did a thing and agitated them more than anything.

Then he had his meaningless performative “we both do this to earn our keep” fight with Ross Johnston in the Ducks game and that’s it?

Overworking 3 lines is bad. We need another line with a real center who can take faceoffs in the defensive zone.
