Dillon has a face shield on. Gadjovich was just swinging wildly since his helmet came off and he was blinded with a jersey over his head and that’s dangerous . I’m sure he was fighting for his life. He’s lucky he fell onto Dillon. If his head hit the ice that could have ended badly
I’m aware of their helmet status and the fact that gadjovich couldn’t see. That doesn’t mean Gadjovich wasn’t still landing better/more punches and he absolutely finished the fight off with a h big punch landed.

I’ve said this before with other incidents where people say it was close or a player was lucky. It is actually pretty hard to hit your head on the ice with no helmet. Like I don’t think Gadjovich was in a particular amount of danger.

This is why getting guys like Cotter AND MacDermitt (but moreso Cotter) were important.
But he did get chippy with Cotter specifically. The only reason he didn’t get more involved was because his team was trailing by 1 goal the entire game and that was rightfully his focus.

View it however you like but the Devils last season would've done....NOTHING when things like, for example, their goaltender being run would happen.

I'm just glad they're responding now and have the players to help do the responding.

I promise you they wouldn’t have done much if any less. It’s just different albeit probably tougher personel. Not sure that makes much of a difference.

I’ll look again tomorrow but at the time and on the between period replay I didn’t see it end by a punch more so a balance thing but anytime your helmet comes off and you can’t see it’s dangerous. Hitting your unprotected head on the ice is about as dangerous as it can be in hockey

It was very much a punch.

I don’t question that it’s dangerous if it happens. Just that it pretty well never happens and is actually very unlikely and difficult to happen. I would be far more concerned about hitting my head along the boards with my helmet off than the ice. The chance of Gadjovich hitting his head on the ice were minimal.

Ya, I'm one of the more negative ones (I try to give them a ton of credit like tonight but sports PTSD has my ass kicked  ) here but I do think that'll help a ton. It'll also help when other teams they're playing are more tired due to the games in hand and they can catch teams on the schedule that way.

It is amazing out schedule still hasn't lightened up yet.

Feels like they have been playing 3 games a week since November with one trip to f***ing Czech and another to western Canada in there.

Need one of those weeks with no games in 3 or 4 days badly

Thursday and Saturday games for the boys and then they’re off until Thursday. I’m sure they’ll really appreciate the rest before getting in some real practice time

Really glad to shove that stupid 4 on 4 in the Panthers' faces, I hate the fact that refs aren't willing to call penalties on the team that's behind late but are willing to give a bunch of 4 on 4s which favors the trailing team. While the Devils definitely got a break on officiating down the stretch in the game, this is still annoying (and I feel like the Panthers have benefited from it in recent years against New Jersey).

I can’t get the replay to load. I’ll look after work tomorrow night
