I’m fine with the swap of Noesen and Mercer. The former has earned more ice time and the Hischier line has been quiet as of late.

I feared that a lack of depth could be a problem with the bottom six (even with the Cotter and Noesen signings). That fourth line is absolutely brutal.

I’d like to know what those schedule makers were thinking with two straight games in Florida against the Panthers, all our back-to-backs and sheer amount of games this early in the season. Last year we had more back-to-backs than any team in the league. I would have to imagine they don’t say to themselves “let’s screw the Devils” but it’s pretty ridiculous. We do have a long history of getting hosed by the league.

Having both Bastian and Lazar out (probably for some time) makes this look worse - they probably need to get a live body down there so we can at least break even with one of MacD and Dowling in the lineup.

Hockey is too random for this to be true, even if I thought the Panthers were that far out of the Devils league (they're not).
