Palms orCaufield to NJ keeps coming up on these boards, the result is always the same. Great player but the Devils can't add another little guy to their top 6.

What sort of cap space is NJ even looking near the deadline? cap wages and puckpedia seem to have different numbers? It's hard to see NJ having enough cap to add an impact player.
With a full roster, Devils will have ~3.7 million to spend at their current rate. What sort of cap space is NJ even looking near the deadline? cap wages and puckpedia seem to have different numbers? It's hard to see NJ having enough cap to add an impact player.
This was addressed some pgs ago.Panarin has a full NMC through the end of his contract and would potentially only waive to go to NJ (wouldn’t have to leave NYC, can compete for a cup).
I definitely have my eye on him and hope NJ can get him retained for a bargain.
That said, I don’t think he’s what the team needs. I know this thread is about the team needing a scorer, but I think they need good forecheckers.
Nelson still has a 16 team ntc so there's a bunch of teams that could be out. He could waive for team on the list. I hope the closeness to LI from Newark plays a role if we have an interest in him.Who are some realistic targets ?
Mainly need a 3C . An upgrade to the top 6 I don’t think is happening , so I hope that the bottom 6 can be improved .
Nelson would be ideal but I can see another team out bid the Devils for him.
Granlund is someone I’d really like but I am just guessing he might be available based off if the Sharks being in sell mode.
Gourde and Vatrano are two others I can think of that would make sense.
Any other players that you guys can think of that might be available that would fill the need of a 3C or very good bottom 6 forwards ?
