Probably not any. I must have seen 10 hypothetical trades die on the hill of Dawson Mercer last year alone
It's likely context, most of the times when I've seen Devils fans balk at giving up Mercer it was something like him 1-1 for Arber Xhekaj or a draft pick. Or where he's a throw in piece to equalize the cap. Or trading him for a rental.
None of these aren't the kind of trades you should move Mercer in.

Panarin has a full NMC through the end of his contract and would potentially only waive to go to NJ (wouldn’t have to leave NYC, can compete for a cup).

I definitely have my eye on him and hope NJ can get him retained for a bargain.

That said, I don’t think he’s what the team needs. I know this thread is about the team needing a scorer, but I think they need good forecheckers.

Oh cool. Another Devils thread where they want a good player and scream "Absolutely f***ing NOT!!!!" to anything of more value than Nolan Foote

Probably not any. I must have seen 10 hypothetical trades die on the hill of Dawson Mercer last year alone

so you admitted you didn't read the thread, but still made the ridiculous comment anyways?

again, HF in a nutshell. Got to love it.

2nd rounder for Palmieri near the deadline if Isles cannot aquire a 1st elsewhere .

nelson seems destined for dallas
Would definitely do this. Hoping for this exact scenario actually but I doubt it will occur. Only possible scenario where the Palmieri return is this low is if there are too many sellers - things are looking the opposite so far.

No. Hell no
Silayev and Nemec are going nowhere. Both are going to be beasts in a few years. Just because Nemec isn’t up right now means nothing. I’d argue that Casey isn’t going anywhere as well. Now if you can get a stud to win a cup, that might be a different story but I would keep him here. His potential is off the charts. Coupled w Hughes you have four dudes for a decade plus on the backend. Fitz has done a marvelous job reconstructing this organization especially on the backend end which is where you win cups.

Just out of curiosity, what NJ fans here would be ready to pay for Caufield?

He's Jack Hughes good friend and they've been teammates (and linemates) on the USDP program.

I don't need to say that Caufield wouldn't be given away.

Nelson could potentially play 2C in a pinch. He might be the best fit. The Palms connection to NJ has got to count for a thought back to Devs. But I agree I don't see both. Only way it happens is they wait until the TDL with accrual. And again, I don't get how they accrue roughly $5M

Well we've been going short on the roster - and if we've got health knock knock knock - should be alright.

Woudn't be sure no one gets moved. Nemec, Casey, Silayev - I doubt all 3 play here full-time.

Could never have enough depth. If it's not too crazy and ask. He's worth alot so expect to give

Would a Zetterland and Sturm for Nemec plus cap have any interest

nah, I just dont see the value there.

I absolutely love Zetterlund and I think he'd be perfect for us right now, but selling that low on Nemec would be bad asset management.

I am definitely interested in something simple like this.

meh, I just don't know that another small forward is what we'd need.

We will see. The management of these assets is very important to a cup/s

Dougie Hamilton as the centerpiece

Not adding an expensive piece without moving one out.

Offensive weapon for offensive weapon. Not interested in moving much more from the roster for him. Maybe a pick.

Not even sure I do that. Makes us worse on the PP, and I don't think it improves us 5v5. He'd fill a similar role to what toffoli did, and I'm not sure he's even the right stylistic fit to help Jack and Bratt compared to someone who digs pucks out
