factually untrue
you want to zing me so bad you ignore facts

I said bread REDUCED TO 6 PER
add elc Berard = ,7

I originally had nemec elc, but take that out
yes Sil's rights have zero cap hit

BUT I ALSO SAID ADD ACCEPTABLE CAP DUMP
try not to cherry pick
You missed the point. NJ’s only dump would be Palat who has a NMC until the season ends. So there is no acceptable cap dump and NJ can’t fit Panarin at 50% off.

Panarin is a great player but aside from the likelihood that the Rangers wouldn’t send Panarin away this season for a futures deal effectively hamstringing themselves for next season it’s going to have to be on a different team to start a rebuild for the Rangers.

Bastian and Tatar for the most part, assuming Lasar comes back after Christmas. I don't think they'll be the scratch all the time though just more often than not. Unless of course they trade 1 of them as salary going back.
Probably can't make 2 moves even with retention without something on balance sheet going the other wat

I don't know da bold, and also, you tellin me you can't do Haula + to get 6m cap, assuming it had to be 111% equal both ways?

Maybe in the abstract but NJ can’t run so many wingers and needs someone to play almost 20 minutes at center behind Hischier and Hughes. It’s creating another hole to add a luxury at an exhorbitant price. Just not good team building.

Yep, that's why I mentioned the piece about either Tatar or Bastian going away for cap purposes. I'd prefer it be MacDermid but it's unlikely anyone would take his contract.

You don't need to move guys making under the burial amount. If it was that bad they can be waived and sent to the AHL. MacDermid hasn't seemed to hurt NJ in the general sense this season. He's not great when he's not fighting but they've managed to largely overcome his lack of ability in games he's played.

I guess you could waive them if need be, MacDermid hasn't hurt them but he's a waste of a roster spot.

I think MacDermid is a necessary evil. A few teams still have a super heavyweight and you need to keep one around. Ideally it's a young player you can move to the AHL when you don't need him but Fitzgerald likes MacDermid and I think Fitzgerald is stuck in the 80s or 90s for his NHL viewpoint.

Until Mungo plays for NYRs
But Dillion seems like he could go there. Honestly Kotter Johnny Kov too and Noeson just crazy enough to try
Haven't seen much that's too scary from Rempe, at least not in any of his fights. Pretty sure most of the guys you mentioned could hang in there with him. All they really need to do is not get the shit kicked out of them.

I'll be happier once he's waived and they have that roster flexibility with being able to send him to the AHL when he's not needed.

Gotta disagree Fitz changed this roster from soft to a team that can play and match up physically with other teams in one offseason and there is always a place for an enforcer....We got rag dolled and our players got hit a lot after tge whistle that has decreased and when it happens there is now a response given to it unlike last year....

Been no way should NJ part with either Nemec or Silayev for Breadman....If we were to trade either it has to be for young cost controlled fwd not a guy who will be toast in a couple of years...I wouldn't trade Silayev nor Nemec ...Next guy out should be Hamilton in a year or two bring up the young guns then....

GMTF spotted a weakness and fixed it. MacD is part of that fix and a welcome addition. I think we still have more to improve, we shall see come playoff time.

As for a goal scorer, that's a tough fix for this year. We either need someone to take a top six spot, or a middle sixer who can bring other aspects to the game as well. Neither is an easy fit cap-wise.

Dylan Cozens and some sweetener for Simon Nemec. Not sure who goes to get them under the cap but Buffalo needs a RD and Cozens showed he can score 30+ and needs a reset. Also leverages the devils’ log jam on the back end but making the cap work could be difficult

Palmieri or Nelson as playoff mercs this year only

You’re right, cap wouldn’t work, and Cozens is having a rough year - especially at his current hit while Nemec, although less proven and currently having some growing pains after a great rookie year, has another year on his ELC after this. That said, Cozens is the exact type of player I would trade Nemec for.

pass, to have Nemec blossom into bobby orr, then what?
Nemec = Bobby Orr?

Right now... You should probably hope Nemec can reclaim his expectation of being a top 4 defender on an NHL team.

His NHL play was downright dreadful this season before he was shipped off to the minor leagues. Nemec didn't take just one step back this season. He turned around and ran backwards for a while.

And he's not playing well in Utica either. Nemec has hit a major developmental roadblock this season. Maybe he pushes thru it and maybe he doesn't. He turns 21 in a month. It's pretty odd he'd backslide so hard at this age. This is where you'd typically see a jump, not a massive regression.

Was Bobby Orr ever dreadful? Your comparison seems insane today.

Krieder for Nemec + your worst contract?
I wouldn’t even give you my worst contract for krieder straight up.

He’s at… 5 even strength points, right?

His last three seasons he scored 51, 31 and 39 goals. Yes he is struggling on a team that is struggling. But the guy has 121 goals over the last three seasons.

Nemec is now in the minors and playing his worst hockey of his career post NHL draft. He was a much better minor league hockey player two years ago than he is today. He was a much better NHL player a year ago.

To say Nemec has taken a huge step backwards in development is still an understatement. His regression is one of the biggest I've seen for a guy that's about to turn 21 and looked legit post draft.

I understand the need not to give up on him. But his NHL prospects are definitely in doubt. Right now.. Nemec sucks.
