The Canes are a really good team, but more importantly they have a really good structure that might help them overcome the loss of star players. They’ve always been about the team effort, and that’s something I respect. That being said I think the Devils have all the tools to win.

The core forwards have to score. The depth guys came through, now help them.

Really hope Timo is able to play. He would really put our depth advantage over the top.

Canes missing two top 6 players in Svechnikov and Teuvo.

With the Devils coming off the high of beating the Rangers, game one in Carolina could be a problem. And I also hope Meier is able to play in this series. We haven’t seen him at his best and he’s due.
I think we're going to be chomping at the bit to keep rolling. The lack of an extra day or two off may actually work in our favor (at least in my head).

I think the question is how we adjust to the different style. Special teams may actually decide this series, but this time in reverse of the last series. They may edge us out 5v5, and our PP may be the difference.

Timo probably thinks he’s joining the Sharks on the golf course at this point. I hope he doesn’t miss much time. Was the upper body issue he was dealing with when he came over here a concussion? I don’t remember.
honestly, looked like it was his helmet that got hit and maybe the visor clipped his nose. definitely got hurt but i’m hoping it’s not as bad as a concussion and he can get back out there soon

This is absolutely houese money at this point. But I'm greedy and so should the team be. They have as good a chance as any. Just play their game, put it all out on the ice and let the chips fall where they may. I'm so proud of this group
it's house money for us as fans for sure, and to an extent the players, but the goal is to win the cup not beat the rangers. that's what they dream about so hoping it's back to work today and get ready to play their game against carolina

that said no matter what happens every devils fan should be happy as f*cking f*ck for how this season has gone

Carolina is definitely a different type of challenge. A lot of speed & defend really, really hard firstly. They also seem to have an aura of everyone being in sync no matter what the situation is. Very disciplined in the way they play.

This is maybe the Devils best chance to win the cup in the next 3 years, depending on the trajectory of L.Hughes/Nemec, and contract demands of Meier/Bratt. Also could win the cup with Severson, which would be amazing.

How is that legal?

It’s not, but teams will get away with it until someone challenges in court or something. I don’t know why the NHL permits it.

What annoying is that there is really no danger of Canes fans getting outnumbered or even meaningfully challenged by Devils fans, this isn’t Toronto or Montreal or something. They’re just doing it to troll.

It would also be nice to get a cup for Ruff. Who knows if he's back next year or pushed up to the front office because of promises made to Brunette.

Big dogs knocked out and Schmid on a run. If Meier can find his game we’re right there with Carolina, Toronto, Florida, and whoever comes out of the West.

Carolina having the late evening to start formulate a game plan against NJ then a full practice to execute said game plan should give them a massive advantage in game 1. At the very least NJ should be having an in-depth video session on the Canes systems and special teams.

At the same time, sitting for several days not playing games and the Devils coming in energized from a game two days earlier favors them

NJ killed thr Rangers after the first two games and the series would have ended in six if not for Shesterkin. I don’t see the Carolina offemse being as dangerous as thr Rangers offemse. Just play the same way they played against the Rangers the last few games and go from there. Treat Aho like Zibby and Burns like Fox and that’s your starting point . Carolina is an excellent team but if NJ can stay out the box it won’t be easy for Carolina if NJ plays with patience .
