I think he was a decent defenseman still, until probably his last year. He was pretty bad by that point. Not completely terrible, but nothing particularly good in his last year.

I thought he was alright to solid when he first arrived, he just didn't produce offense anymore and wasn't at all explosive like he used to be.
But he perfected the leg sweep!

It's great that they've scored early season, but it doesn't mean that they couldn't use a sniper. 8 teams win a playoff round, so that's the group you wanna compare the team to, not non playoff teams.

And again the Devils are 1.8g/gp in this recent stretch, that's gotta be among the worst in the league. Plus leading the league in getting shutout. The whole stat is heavily skewed by Noesen Cotter etc going hot early season, now that they've gone quieter (Cotter seems to be heating up though) and our top stars aren't scoring as much the lack of true snipers is showing. How long are we gonna be 8th in scoring? They really need to pull themselves out of this hole.

Caps had a stretch of 5 games at 2 goals a game

Leafs had two 5 game streaks of 2 goals a game

Jets had a 7 gm stretch of 2 goals a game

Lightning are on a current streak of 2 goals a game

I just randomly nitpicked other top 10 scoring teams. A season ebbs and flows. Making declarations like this is nonsense until it is proven over a longer stretch.

And to reiterate. These are cup winners

23-24 Panthers were 8th

22-23 Knights were 14th

18-19 Blues were 15th

17-18 Capitals were 9th

14-15 Hawks were 17th

Well you're obviously more optimistic than me. I've hated how they've looked since the Rangers game. This stretch on paper hasn't also been that tough, you really shouldn't be losing to all these teams (without Marky we would have lost to Seattle too). The team has looked a little lost, the scoring has been down, but the defensive game has also struggled.

I hope your right and the team bounces back quick, but I think I have as much right as anyone else to express my concerns.

I agree. It’s absolutely frustrating. But I have been watching this sport for 25 years. I have seen almost every single good team in this league go through bad stretches of play every season. Its just part of a NHL season.

If this scoring problem continues for the rest of this month. Then it may be time to panic then. But as of now, they are currently playoff their way out of a slump. Lets see what happens
