I don't like playing 11/7 unless you need to. If Holtz is going to be on the 4th line then just sub him out for Zetterlund.

But it wouldn't really matter either way because Ruff seems hellbent on leaning on the top 3 lines only, sprinkling in McLeod & Bastian on the PK and other random shifts here and there. So I guess at least Bahl is in.

I fail to see how hiding a player from tough matchups is good player management - he needs to learn how to play in those tough situations not run from them.

Seems more like employment management to me.
Well, Outside of game 1 Holtz has looked a bit lost. Sitting him for a game for a tougher opponent to let him see things from the box seems like a valid strategy

Yeah we don't want Holtz playing against their physical 4th line so well just end up playing Jack there instead.

Makes perfect f***ing sense.

If Holtz is relegated to healthy scratches or 4th line duties I'd rather they just send him down and put Zetterlund into that role.

Holtz and other rookies across the league have been getting the shaft when it comes to icetime. Rossi , Wright , Johnson etc all under 8 minutes a night . Common theme so far where there is pressure to perform and win games instead of letting rookies figure it out on the fly . Coaches limiting rookies icetime to save face .
