Weird note, but Nashville *might* be able to retain. One of our slots is Ryan Johansen, and the Flyers attempted to void his contract. Very weird open question right now. I assume we can't, but there isn't a clear answer.

I'd probably do next years 1st. I would like to snag both O'Reilly and Rakell. They're up there in age but you have to go for it at some point and they'd both be here next season with Jack back.

Of course not. Preds fans expect that Barry Trotz will steadfastly honor O'Reilly's verbal NMC and not trade him at all. Not even if Nemec was offered (which he wouldn't be).

I think a 2026 1st is the "fairest" value right now given the sellers' market. Nemec is my Forsberg-for-Erat style hope based on ROR being one of the top centers available.

2026 1st and "some kind of decent prospect" is the fair price. I don't think Trotz is going to be interested in a "fair price", however. Unless O'Reilly has told him that he'd like to go to a playoff team - which does not seem to have happened.

We know he wasn’t interested in re-signing with Toronto, never heard that he had problems with Keefe. I just assumed he wanted no part of that locker room / leadership group (also turned down the ‘A’ during his brief time there)
