i said if this continues for a few weeks. as usual, in your rush to be a condescending prick you clearly didn’t read my post

You were absolutely implying that its been weeks of this already. It has been 10 days. It is not going to "continue for a few weeks".

They havent played well recently. Its a longggggggggggggggggg season though.

LOL analytics get cited as proof the lack of scoring can’t possibly continue and it does cause getting shots doesn’t equal quality chances or having finishers
I’m confused? We’re a better finishing team than Carolina and have better high end talent. Carolina is like THE team that the most annoying people in the world point to to say that analytics are useless. The classic paper tiger.

We get probably more dangerous chances than anyone in the league. We’re just not scoring any of them right now. No, it will not continue.

We’e seen losing streaks the past handful of seasons, this is the first time we’ve seen a real winning streak. That’s what gives me hope. Seeing that they can actually go on a tear but the longer this lasts, the harder it is to expect It.

Losing 3 of 5 or going 4-6 in 10 games is to be expected. The compounding losses looks like it’s having the same impact the winning streak did. They need to end it.

The timing is what's so damaging. They aren't playing teams that will cut a slumping team a break so the opportunities to put together a 3 or 4 out of 5 games with a win isn't there until January.

They got Florida tomorrow, which could be winnable if we weren't starting Blackwood. Then Boston twice, Pitt, and Carolina again.

After that it eases up a bit. Sinking Detroit and a bad St. Louis team. California road trip not long after.

You hope they can put together winning streaks by then, but if they want to still be in a good place in the standings, they HAVE to figure something out much sooner against top teams

Huh? We had a brutal collapse against Nashville and then got doubled in shots by the Flyers. Beating Chicago doesn't reset anything.

I don't consider a game that was 3-2 and then still getting a point a "brutal" loss. It was "brutal" because of how late Nashville tied it. Otherwise, it was just like any other loss.

PS- now getting doubled in shots means something? Good to know.

I wonder about that. I don't think this team has done anything over the last decade to deserve the benefit of the doubt. I hope they figure it out, but it's feeling pretty familiarly grim. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me 10 times, shame on me...
🚨 ALERT 🚨

Thanks to TheUnseenHand's reverse mojo magic, this post all but confirms a Devils 10-game winning streak starting tomorrow!

*(Hoping (and pleading) your magic works once more, UnseenHand!)*

Teams from 8, 9, 10 years ago have almost zero bearing on this year's. How many guys are even still on the team from that far back? Just Severson? Management has changed twice in that time, coaching even more often.

Your point still stands that they have been bad the last few seasons too. But citing the full 10 years as if it means anything is overstating the case.

Can you let me know what the lotto numbers are for tomorrow?

And I assume, since you already know the results of the next 3 games, that you wont be watching or in here?
I'll be here and if they play like the last 5 the next 3 are losses too ... keep on quoting the November stats .... it's December and a whole different situation.

After 2:

CF%: 60.27%
HDCF%: 65%
SCF%: 58.14%
xGF: 3.18
xGA: 1.75
Shots: 27-13 NJ

We're literally giving them 0. Unfortunate game. We're outplaying them.
I'm 100% buying these stats. I dont think Canes had that many chances all game, but pretty much all they had they scored on. Even the offside goal. Kudos to them. Theyre converting on very little chances. Even the Canes feed was saying that Kyochetkov is keeping them in and Canes havent had much.

But the problem lies with the finishing as much as it does with everything else. We've been generating chances for awhile now without scoring more than a goal or two per game. This cant go on for too long. We need to be more hungry on loose pucks, get to dirty areas, have more point shots, deflections etc. cause lets face it, this team is not skilled enough to score 3+ goals a night on skill alone no matter what our CF% is.

Looks like Blackwood starts the 3rd.

He calls out people for being negative but literally all his posts are demeaning people for having a different opinion than him and being negative

Those are serious narcissistic traits

Its totally fine to have a different opinion. Everyone is allowed. When a shitty opinion is presented, I will refute it. I am sorry that that bothers you.

When you post on a message board, youre posting your thoughts for the world to see. Some might disagree with them. If you dont like that, then dont post.

"SEASON IS OVER!" nonsense is whiny baby BS. Its especially more infuriating when it comes from posters who were nowhere to be seen in here when the team was dominating the league.

You guys cite the shots ALL THE TIME when we lose 3-1 and outshoot the other team 35-20

The absolute worst time to face a goalie who is playig the best hockey he has ever played in his entire life while our guys are all slumping . Not a good combination. We need to catch a break and face a goalie having a rough night. We ha e faced a few goalies playig theor best games of the season against us. It’s very frustrating . Varlamov Wedgewood Hart, now this flash in the pan .
