Why not wait two years until Quinn becomes a UFA? They'll need the time to free up cap space for him.

Because Nico only has two years left on his current contract, which is a bargain. He will no doubt cost more on his next contract. We should be contending while he’s on his current contract.

Same with Jack, though he has 5 years left.

And same with Quinn. He’s going to cost more on his next contract. Best to get him as soon as possible and start contending. And stop dicking around or whatever you wanna call these last two years.
