Value of: Dylan Strome

I thought it was important to note that nobody agrees with you so people who don't watch Strome or Washington on a regular basis have a clear understanding that this is the opinion of the extreme minority. And when you describe a player you want to trade as one that will be a slow soft pile of baby shit, it tends to poison the well and affect other's perceptions of the player.
Well we aren’t actual general managers here are we? Poisons the well of what? People saying nice things about Dylan Strome? You just have a parasocial relationship with your favorite hockey players. Who even cares if it’s the minority view? Why would that be important context to a hypothetical discussion? Have you polled the fanbase that you claim to represent? because I just watched him get caved in for 5 straight games. You didn’t even really go after point, just directly to the ad hominem attacks. 1)whined about not seeing me post on the caps board (which isn’t even correct) as if I’m some secret troll 2)Immediately started talking about how everyone actually likes him and he loves DC and all that bullshit. He’s a hockey player, this is a subforum of a message board where a bunch of random dudes discuss trades. No need to crash in like a Reddit mod and try to regulate the narrative because you can’t downvote it.

I love Stromer. Unfortunately, he lives and dies with Ovi playing well. I think Ovi is the one carrying Strome, not the other way around.

Strome has good hands and great vision, which opens up the space for Ovi. He needs wingers with a deadly shot, which is why he has so much chemistry with #8. Unfortunately, both him and Ovi are slow now, so they need someone with speed too.

Protas is usually that guy, but he hasn’t been the same since his foot injury.

Garbage thread, and I won’t stand for the Strome slander. Strome has been terrific and is great value. He is not soft and yeah he’s not the fastest but his IQ is ridiculously high. He’s like an 8/10 version of Backstrom.

I thought Carberry did Strome a disservice against Carolina keeping him with Ovechkin. Ovechkin clearly couldn’t keep up with the pace of play.

He also absolutely loves being a Cap and he’s loved in DC. Interesting post by someone who has never posted on HFCaps before.
This, the problem was playing him and Ovie together against a team like Carolina. It's like having 2 guys who can't dribble in the game against Nolan Richardson's old Arkansas "40 minutes of Hell" squads that used to press all game.
