Markstrom has been all kinds of awful but this game should be 4-2. I told my gf when Carolina was gifted that BS penalty at the end of the first that the refs just impacted the rest of the game. Didn’t take Nostradamus to predict it. I have to calm down. I’m THAT pissed.

All that will be talked about is the undermanned lineup.

But the undermanned lineup scored 4 and is playing pretty well, other than being really bad at killing penalties.

Markstrom is a ticking time bomb right now. He’s ducking, he’s sliding all over the place. He’s letting out a huge rebound instead of covering the puck on a fairly low percentage shot. He’s cancelling out icings for Carolina.

He looks about as engaged as he did in Pittsburgh in that game in March or that home game late in the regular season against Boston.

Honestly the refs swallowing their whistles the rest of the way might be best for us. As much as I’d love to get a call or 2 the Canes PK has given up so little this series and are always a threat shorthanded. 5-on-5 is where this team has made its hay so far
