One subtle thing today is Vegas’s chances are all one and done. At some point Vegas will get frustrated and run the goalie and we will see what happens then

This is also starting to look like a plethora of games with elite Cory Schneider circa 2013-2016 where we can't score and he's stopping everything and we somehow lose 1-0 to Halak (that happened multiple timex to Halak alone, I believe and several others) after Schneider makes 33 saves on 34 shots.

Remember, this team doesn't need offense according to Tom who thought Holtz was a good 7th over all pick, thinks Mercer isn't someone you trade, thought Tierny, Nosek, MacDermid should have a spot on this team.

Doesn’t matter the way this team is playing. If anything he probably saved us from dealing with the Rangers dominating us in the first round of the playoffs.
It woukd be painful to watch this sort of game all the time.

At this point it seems clear Holtz won't be in NJ next year, the dreams of him taking a massive step forward with Ruff fired are gone. He's being shipped out. Did they screw up his development? Probably, but he's probably not a major piece regardless.

Holtz skating is horrible. Mercer is just as shit but gets a pass because of his counting stats last year and because the coaching staff over uses him on things he sucks at (PK and the PP).

We aren’t the same team. The most dynamic player in franchise history can’t stick handle or manage to get shots on goal anymore. The rest of the stuff improving would just take us from incredibly shit to kinda shit.

Fitzgerald is an amateur GM. He will never have a management job after this, our ownership group would be brain dead if they don’t let him go this summer.
Fitzgerald has successfully speed run ruining a good young team in less than a season. I’m quite impressed.
Dude looks like an AHLer at this point... he's been that bad... he brings absolutely nothing to the team...

I would never have said Jake Allen was any better than a guy like Vitek, but we didn't really get Vitek this year. We got a broken player this year and basically since the playoffs last year.
I've been critical of Allen in the past, but he seems like a guy that everybody likes in the locker room and I don't know enough about if he no-shows post game pressers in games he gets lit up, as I never followed his teams, but I do really wonder if people like Jack were tired of having to answer for why their goalie let them down so badly that night. All the skaters and Ruff had to answer those questions and I wonder if that's why Jack made that comment about saves.
Allen seems like somebody that everybody back there is gonna like, even in his bad games. I feel like Bernier was the same kind of guy and so was Hedberg.
