Don't you just hate it when someone here puts out a fake rumor like that as if he has inside knowledge that no one else does just to put himself on a pedestal?

Come on, @TBF1972 .

If this poster is so well-known here, why wouldn't you reveal who it is?

Could it be that you're just....LYING? Nah. Couldn't be that. :eek3:

I thought the same thing. After some stinkers last game, he made some huge plays. I like he can use his stick to break up plays, he blocks shots, and most of all he uses his body around the net to clear people out. We are going to need more of that come playoff time.

(There, I said it)
Damn it, bg!!

Don't you know that you can't be optimistic about the Devils making the playoffs around here and that you should only be satisfied with them "making progress" and getting participation trophies at the end of the season? :scared:

Still waiting for @TBF1972 's source that apparently fed him a bag of lies that said "Hey! We are trading Bratt. *psst* pass it on..."

Hersheybob is not a reliable source. 🤔
this fan base is notourisly slow to catch up to new developments. we nearly traded bratt in the off-season for whatever we can get.
seems i worded this not carefully enough.

small parts of the fan base (or one specific poster) were willing to trade bratt for whatever the devils can get, at a time, when bratt already had become a cost effective top 6 / first line wing. even without him exploding to start the season this was the output of ancient thinking.

This was nice win. You could see how Calgary really turned on the hitting and physicality after the 1st period and I think in seasons past they would have folded up and collapsed. Even though Calgary tied it they were still able to weather the storm. Good stuff.
^this. Biggest bit of growth by this team.
Nico getting planted by Zadorev and Hughes turned into wallpaper worries me, tho. I think we are five players away, assuming we resign Bratt, Wood, Graves:
Bottom pair: (Hughes/nemec)
Physical scoring top six sniper
Better version of Haula (or maybe that's Mercer)

I wish Sevs was LHD bc I'd have no problem dealing him with Holtz to get that top6 guy. As RHD, he's harder to replace but I'd rather not deal Graves as long as he and Marino are swallowing all of the tough assignments.

Please present me the "facts" about how faceoffs are definitely important.

I will await this definitive analysis.
Some of the most important goals, both for and against, scored during this streak were directly attributable to faceoff wins. Two in particular came immediately (less than a second) after clean faceoff wins.

Like anything, it's a skill. You could say goalie puck handling means absolutely nothing 'next to meaningless' because of it's statistical rarity. And yet you'd be wrong there too.

Super important in the grand scheme that Jack be great at faceoffs? Meh. Good? Passable? Only if you want him to ever be considered among the greatest players if he stays as a 1c and to be out there in every situation when a game is on the line. .
For guys like Bergeron, Toews and Oates, it's a big part of their greatness. For guys like ROR, it's one of the only reasons they have a ring.

I think the context is getting lost. I don’t think anyone suggested the team was interested in trading Bratt. There is a poster who dislikes Bratt as a player suggesting he is all offense and soft. That poster has long advocated trading Bratt.

I was curious if NJ had offered Bratt when they tried to trade for Tkachuk but according to Elliott Friedman (who apparently is the mouthpiece for the teams if I’m reading the clues properly) said they did not.

I wonder what the offer was for Tkachuk? Holtz+?

I don't know if this has been posted already because I'm old and fell asleep before last night's game and then snowboarded inside a mall all morning until now, so I haven't read this thread at all, but Zetterlund is going to get more points than Zacha this season.

If you snowboard inside a mall you aren’t old.

It could be corner moment for organization.

And really I can’t imagine how this man feel about it.

Dostoevsky was involved in social terroristic organization. He was caught and sentenced to be shot. He and his accomplices were put up for execution, after the announcement of the command to shoot, the shooters cocked their weapons, they should make a shot, but after officere read out a pardon. Once of the condemned Grigoriev went mad.

As I remember DevilsDoggo was a fan from his 11yo and as I understand that’s a lot of years, because he invested money like he said. He listened great ”stories“ from fans about rebuild and second rebuild. In the time when team was achiving worser and worser results. How can we talk about being better when the results were worser.
But as Dostoevsky said - to start rising, you need to fall to the very bottom. And then push off.

It’s look like notorious @RangerDoggo is Grigoriev in this history.
You’re not only our hero, but you’re a hero to world 🌎

Thats not a fact lol its just a bunch of anecdotes.

and I said faceoffs are NEXT TO meaningless. There are always a couple important faceoffs in a game. But FOR THE MOST PART, 95% OF THE TIME, they are meaningless. I dont get why this is so hard to see.

if JAck never took another faceoff agian he would still be considered a "great player". Thats silliness.

How are two goals not a fact? Wtf like your jibberish is beyond comprehension at this point.

If jack moves to lw permanently then he'll be a great player if he never takes a faceoff again.

If he's our #1c, and in a playoff game he isn't in the ice to start a PP, or he needs to get subbed for a big draw in our zone, or worse we have a big Dzone faceoff late in the game and he loses it, it'll be all the announcers and fans will talk about.

He made an actual poster of it and hung it on his wall.

So yes, the poster does exist.
