Cannot extrapolate what Stephenson did on the Kraken, to what Stephenson could have done on the Devils. Stephenson playing 3rd line minutes on this Devils team (a perennial contender), looks much different than him playing hard 1st line minutes for the Kraken. He would have the Tavares role on this team, not the Matthews role. Even playing so poorly, he has just 7 fewer points than Cotter and Mercer combined. I'm using points because I'm immune to xG. Took that vaccine before the pandemic.

The deal is ugly for the Kraken because they are a desperate team. This would not have been an ugly deal for a team that's 2 bottom-6 pieces away from winning the Cup (which I think we are). And UFA contracts are all about the player and less about the team. The players earn their career paycheck and the teams use big UFAs to fill major gaps they can't via trade/draft/etc. I don't expect him to finish all 6 years in Seattle, and if he does, that means Kraken have improved.

I look forward to seeing what Bennett gets on his next deal.

My shoulder is especially bothering me, it has been dragging on since the Olympic qualifiers, where I was injured in the match against Hungary.

Smart move. Sounds like he was hurt all year. I hope he can put in a normal offseason of work though. Maybe not.

I just got a great deal on some synthetic shoulders but unfortunately I had to buy them in bulk, I'm talking like 20 shoulders. I'm just giving them out to my friends/guys who play for the team I like.

They're best smoked slow and low.

Glass should be no higher than 4C on a contender. If we sign him, it needs to be sub $2M and for a 4C role.

If they can find better than Glass, obviously I would be open to that.

I'm convinced this medical team just specializes in shoulders, so any injury a player gets they default to it being a shoulder injury.

wow and to think i was just walking the tunnel on saturday going to monster jam i was thinking about that game against ottawa i didn't know it was that close to the date.

right on the date. the kentucky derby was also that day, some people were following that as well during the tailgate ... i'm pretty sure i only have one photo still left from that day. maybe i'll dig it up, its on a computer

this, and not only appears the hughes shoulder are made of marshmellows, it looks like they are contagious as well. need to come up with a vaccine asap and i say no bodycontact during camp or we might not be able to ice a team for the season opener. save that for preseason games against the rags, flyers and canes

I think it’s gotta be at least like top 6 wing, 3C and Grits. I don’t think we necessarily have to completely overhaul the bottom 6 personnel. 3C is needed then top 6 wing and Grits helps push other guys down and slots them more appropriately

The UFA center market is basically Tavares (not coming to NJ), Bennett and Nelson (going to massive paydays), and then Pius Suter. And that's pretty much it.

There are some interesting wing UFAs who might come at a decent price tag. Mangiapane is a nice bounce-back candidate. Eric Robinson, Joel Armia, or Connor Brown can shore up the bottom-six.

But a high-end winger or 3C upgrade would probably have to come via trade.

At least one other move in the bottom six is needed.

Not sure I like a bottom six frankly with Palat and Noesen in it. I do feel it will continue to be ineffective.
