In all fairness, by league standards, he's not really all that young anymore...at least not from a maturity standpoint...21 years old, 3 years pro, you'd think the maturation process would be pretty deep into the process?
Find me a young man at that age in any other walk of life that isn't at least kind of a dick.

I know you're not actually looking for a debate, and I don't even mind if a player is an arrogant prick if they can walk the walk.

But Nico & Bratt fit that bill.

Is it arrogance or entitlement?

They might look the same but they come from very different places I think.

Ah, Nemec may be an arrogance that transformed into entitlement?

But I was using Nico and Bratt as guys who have always seemed very unprickish. Great attitudes and great effort.

Jack is definitely part prick, but great effort.

Yeah Bratt and Nico do seem to be grounded. But it's also been a very long difficult path those two have had to endure since 2017.

Basically I think those two are much more of a finished product that are now looked upon as leaders...if we're honest and remember, Bratt had a time where he look a little lost and needed to be called out ...but it worked itself out.

I think the dirty little secret is nobody has really worked well with Dillon because he’s hard to play with.

He’s a bit of a defensive cowboy who wanders but doesn’t provide much offense to make up for the defensive miscues. Dillon is supposed to provide grit, and he provides some, but that doesn’t help his partner out much; that’s more of a vibe helper for the team.

I don't think that's any secret lol. Everyone who's played with him has looked terrible. Idk what the "stats" say though

If Dougie comes back, does he take over on the first team PP? I personally think we should stick with Luke.

Why not just make use of them both interchangeably? Not sure if any team has done that before. Like keep the opposition on their toes because they won't know who will come out and how to defend. Sometimes, have Luke there. Sometimes Dougie.

I hope we do move Nemec this offseason. Wanted to at the deadline but oh well.

Not interested to see if he can turn it around, would rather cut the losses and get something quality back vs Holtz
i doubt his value has ever been lower, the return would likely be a similar reclamation project and a little sweetener. unless someone is willing to ridiculously overpay, i'd rather just hang onto him.

But Bratt I thought struggled with confidence. Which is the opposite of what we are seeing with Nemec.

Point was I always thought Bratt and Nico were good kids. Right out of the gate.

Despite zero points through 6 games played I continue to like Sprong's game. Gets puck on net thanks to good skills decent speed and imo good effort. Is he always where he needs to be positionally? Maybe not, but that is no different then Cotter, and as wingers not the most critical position.

Like Cotter he is also dirt cheap.

If those 2 guys are in the bottom 6 next year I'm ok with that.

Keefe was asked about Sprong yesterday by Bill I believe, and had some positive things to say. Here's the media availability from yesterday.

Nemec has been unimaginably bad this year but it’s still gone a bit too far in here. Marco Rossi had 1 point in 19 games in his age 21 season. He is now looking like a possible star. This isn’t really cope considering Nemec was quite respectable last season and not a soul was predicting he’d bust after his rookie campaign.

There are only a handful of guys that have proven anything in Nemec’s draft class, and one of them was picked ahead of him. Not opposed to trading him, but I really don’t need to see the psychoanalysis stuff.

sprong got me sprung. i'd love to see what a guy with that kind of motor can do on a line with some talent.
