It’s weird to think if the devils do face the caps in the playoffs that’s the first time they’ve done so since what 88? Just as rare as a matchup with the islanders. Just crazy to me we played multiple teams over the years but some not so much

The Caps is definitely more of a surprise it hasn't happened since then since both made the playoffs a lot over the years. The Islanders is less surprising when you look at it more, they missed the playoffs so many years when we had our playoff streak and we've been out of it the majority of the time lately.

Yeah I have to agree with that.

Bonus question what team have the devils faced most in playoffs? I’m assuming flyers

I reckon it goes like:

Rangers
Hurricanes
Penguins
Bruins
Flyers

The @Guttersniped ‘s of the world can pull up the real stats tho haha

Columbus is the only Eastern Conference team we have never played in the playoffs. We haven't played Detroit in the playoffs since they moved to the Eastern Conference but obviously have played them before.

It has every NHL game, both home and away broadcasts through NHL TV.

It also comes with every other league out there. Want to watch Grits in the KHL playoffs? You can.

To playback recordings, all you need to do is download VLC media player to your firestick and give it access to the folder with the recordings.

You don't ever have any issues with bad feeds or losing connection? I tried something similar for a while (pre-covid) and it was a massive pain in the ass to get anything reliable.

Gotta give credit to Alex for doing the listening.

Hate to be that guy, but my concern about Dougie coming back is they go back to Dillon-Dougie pairing. THEY NEED TO FIGURE THAT OUT. THAT PAIRING DOES NOT WORK

Since Siegs is out I see no reason why they can't try this

Dumbolin-Hamilton
Luke-Pesce
Dillon-Kovacevic

I don't know the stats but surely that pair is better than Dillon-Nemec lol. The lesser of two evils

I think the dirty little secret is nobody has really worked well with Dillon because he’s hard to play with.

He’s a bit of a defensive cowboy who wanders but doesn’t provide much offense to make up for the defensive miscues. Dillon is supposed to provide grit, and he provides some, but that doesn’t help his partner out much; that’s more of a vibe helper for the team.

If Dougie comes back, does he take over on the first team PP? I personally think we should stick with Luke.

I think I'd agree with you. PP1 is still rolling along pretty nicely and Luke has been playing fantastic in this final stretch. With Dougie possibly still getting his sea legs back under him, I would rather ease him back in and let him take PP2 initially.

you know looking back at the older playoff series and the division format why was that ok and i wonder if people were bored of the facing the same teams over and over? to be fair about the 1-8 there were a lot of meh non rival matchups

On the devils advocate side, if PP1 is relatively the same effectiveness with Luke or Hamilton there then I’ll probably want to use Hamilton on PP1 so that I can use Luke-Pesce more at 5 on 5.

Not a knock on Luke being on PP1 but a compliment to his play at 5 on 5 relative to the other pairings.

I think we can assume Luke is resting his groin pull but I don’t think we know of any ailments for Pesce. Hopefully just maintenance for bumps and bruises from blocking pucks.

Pesce also played 27 minutes last game, so possible bruises and just general energy maintenance for someone likely to play a lot in the coming games.
