Post-Game Talk: Leafs tie Season Series with Senators

To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Rick and Morty. The humor is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical physics most of the jokes will go over a typical viewer's head. There's also Rick's nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation - his personal philosophy draws heavily fromNarodnaya Volya literature, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these jokes, to realize that they're not just funny- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Rick and Morty truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the humour in Rick's existencial catchphrase "Wubba Lubba Dub Dub," which itself is a cryptic reference to Turgenev's Russian epic Fathers and Sons I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Dan Harmon's genius unfolds itself on their television screens. What fools... how I pity them. 😂 And yes by the way, I DO have a Rick and Morty tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It's for the ladies' eyes only- And even they have to demonstrate that they're within 5 IQ points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand.
The award of the most convoluted irrelevant post on hfboards 2025 is...

Nothing is over till it’s over, but this series is a bit different than that one. 1. Montreal took game 1, so even though they were down there was a belief they could win.

2. Ottawa is literally not getting shots through

3. Carey price who is a complete X factor is not in net for Ottawa. It’s Linus Ullmark whose numbers in the playoffs are pretty garbage.

My head says leafs in 5, my heart says this is over on Saturday. We’ll probably see the best version of the leafs on Saturday come out guns blazing.
4. Alex Galyenchuk isn't manning the point in OT.

very optimistic of you. but after a decade of total and utter playoff collapse i don't know how anyone can feel confident about a 3-0 lead for this team. If anyone's gonna blow it it'll be them
Agreed, I'm saving any bragging rights this time until after win #4. But man am I enjoying this ride!

That’s my favourite book of all time. Granted I’ve never seen Rick and M. Do they represent Bazarov and Arkady?
Can you please help me understand this one! I am genuinely curious.

Good luck against Florida. Not reason to be truly excited since we knew this would happen. The talent difference is just too high.

Fans are happy now but an early loss to Florida will quickly destroy these boards. Not saying it's 100% just the most likely outcome.

Marner haters are conflicted and don't know what to do with themselves. They'll probably twist stats, complain about lack of physicality to prove their point.

How does it feel knowing the Matthews first goal of the series was completely Marner. He hasn't done anything in the series other than capitalizing on Marner's skill. Thought he was supposed to be the one carrying Marner just like he did in the reg season right??

This series is exactly why I said before the playoffs started that the regular season record against Ottawa meant nothing. The Leafs coasted through a lot of those regular season games because most of the time their talent could overtake a game even when they were sloppy. But the sloppyness tends to disappear in the playoffs, and what we are watching in this series is an Ottawa team that is finding out just how over-matched it is. A bigger test will come in the second, but that will also depend on how healthy (or, more appropriately, not healthy), Florida or Tampa is, because both of those teams are nursing significant injuries.

I will give you props for saying the Leafs would win close games against Ott.

Who...are you even talking to?

This was the first time in about two years I didn't know the outcome before watching the game.

Normally it's impossible to avoid the score for longer than about five minutes after waking up. Even if you don't go on the internet there's always some loudmouth who thinks it's hilarious to tell you the results. During the regular season I normally don't care and can't be bothered anymore.

But man was it ever good today to watch this game and see them take a stranglehold on the series.

If they lost this round it would have been the biggest bust for this core yet. Even going to seven games would have been a disappointment. A sweep is just the confidence boost they need to take on a real contender in the next round.

I'm sorry but anyone using this series to "prove" the Leafs have become a playoffs warrior is getting ahead of themselves.

I'm just as happy as the next fan the Leafs are destroying the Senaturds. But Ottawa stinks and their coach is even worse than Keefe. Celebrating like Toronto just won the Stanley Cup is a little premature.

The results of this series were known before it even started.
Nobody is doing anything like you suggest, another fiction you've created to bash ghosts that don't exist. Zzzzz.

I am still in awe over that pass by Marner to Set Matthews up, like that is just pure skill
In terms of hockey IQ there are very few in the world on or above Marner's level. That's always been his biggest strength, he can find and exploit things others can't because he can see things others can't. He can't use his physical attributes to create space though, so his IQ has to carry him.

You just don’t appreciate the little things they do well. Play smart defensive hockey, take high danger shots away, block a ton of shots, make the simple plays, use opportunistic offence, and rely on great goaltending. They look poised, mature and calm. Learn to love this style, I have.
Their third periods sure have made me a believer.

I don't care if they bring back the trap, the LW lock, whatever style that leads to wins is ok in my books

I do find it funny the narrative about the Sens being some young plucky upstart with only up to go from here. All of their core players are smack in the middle of their primes. I guess Sanderson is just entering his. They are a team that desperately struggles to put the puck in the net and they really have nothing coming that will change that anytime soon. Wouldn't be shocked if they fall backwards and miss the playoffs next season tbh.

As far as I'm concerned they can lay down on the bench and suck each other's thumbs if it results in wins.

Watching the highlights, what a horribly officiated game.

You're right 100% but you are sounding dangerously close to a Sens fans 911 call.

BTW if Lorentz on Stuzle is tripping penalty, what happened to Marner with about 90 seconds left should be life in prison.

Same shit happened against Fla, when Maurice held up four gingers to bitch about the reffing in the Leafs favour... which it was not., the Refs cave 100 out of 100 times and will always give our opponents the favourable calls if the Refs are called out ... in the end most Refs are spineless jelly fishes and if you call them out, they try to make it up to you in later games.

Shit... I'm starting to sound dangerously close to a Sens fan.... 🤒 .... 🤢 ... 🤮

IMO the Sens have out played the Leafs in 7 of the 9 periods, to your point we simply have more individual talent. maybe out played are the the wrong words, carried the play is a better phrase.
