It’s almost like someone cursed the team at Christmas and they all starting playing 1/2 as good as they were before .
Went from a dominant / confident team to one that looks like a lottery team that can’t score .

Whenever this happens to a player mid-season the answer is almost always nagging injury.

OT-- but I cant help but root for Tkacuck after he waived off that high-stick against us earlier this season. And it happened on the same day that Mahomes played the Texans w his ridiculous flop out of bounds.

So many frustrating things happened . How the F did Luke go from looking like a legit Norris calibre Dman for a stretch , to now just meh ? How do we go from destroying top teams and holding them to under 20 shots , to struggling to score 1 goal against humpty teams ?
We are not making the playoffs and it’s very depressing to see

I think it’s the lack of quality drafting over a long period of time. Thr only place they have any prospect depth is on right defense. They have not hit on enough picks and have not taken any real swings at center. It’s why they end up with so many broken down vets.

I’d agree for some guys but Luke is a pretty effortless skater and has a ton of talent. He’s probably somewhat banged up. He showed up injured and recently had that play where he looked hurt before returning to thr game. I don’t doubt he’s feeling the effects of a long season but probably at least somewhat sore and banged up as are a number of guys.

He is done . A 3c needs to do more than he has . Zero points since NOVEMBER . None . Not a single point. And it’s not like he is contributing either by throwing crushing hits and locking things down defensively/ blocking shots / blazing in on the forecheck and causing havoc . He just floats around taking up a roster spot
 
I wonder how much Cane and co. is a factor into all these decisions.

Like a lot of what's been done seems to be finding a compromise between Fitz's thicc obsession and the quant side. But I'd be really surprised if he's on board with the way they've drafted.

I have to say that the loss against Dallas last week - when we fought back to tie it on Pesce’s goal with 4 minutes left and then lost the game with 5 seconds left - was as painful and depressing an experience as I’ve ever had watching sports. I’m not saying it was more than any other - just that I don’t remember being as depressed and sad after a game any time in recent years - like going back to maybe 2010. I couldn’t sleep afterwards and just kept lying there unable to shut off an emotional feedback loop. Having just seen Jack Hughes get hurt again the prior game was definitely part of it too. Just so sad.

It’s not healthy. It’s not fun. I’ve been wondering why have I spent so much time on this message board? But certainly it’s been until recently a resource from surfing my phone surveying horrible political news and current events.

I disagree that we aren’t necessarily making the playoffs and still have hope, but I’m not going to watch the games for a while except to check in for a few minutes periodically . Trying to find an acceptable level of engagement.

It’s unfortunate that we pissed away possible points in a handful of games this year. Whatever the outcome of this regular season is, we’ll be looking back on some of those I’m sure.

I am 100% confident we will not make the playoffs if we lose tomorrow.

If we win tomorrow I’m not anywhere near confident we’ll make the playoffs.

But lose tomorrow and I’d have to think that’s it. A horrible Flyers team (worst roster in the East IMO) with goaltenders who are a disgrace to the position, on top of the fact that they just played today while we didn’t. And got their asses kicked by a Kraken team of even lesser skill than our current one.

Oh god, it was Grubauer they lost to and only scored 1 on today. That’s gotta be a season low goals against for him lol.
