I was critical of this list thinking our fanbase doesn’t deserve to be in the top ten, but idk now lol.

Still say Carolina’s needs to be higher. Like way higher. Habs fans need to be in the top 3.

I think people forget Haula was good for this team in previous seasons, which makes him falling off all the worse this season

And it's quite puzzling. He was been absolutely horrific and that downfall kind of came out of nowhere.

He's 34 years old in two weeks. Not a long list of career middle-six guys who come back from imploding entirely in their age 33 season.

Basically the way I look at age is that it is a series of injuries. And Haula has had a lot of injuries.

We need a C for sure now . Nelson , ROR , are the only two I can think of that’s available that I want for the top 9 . Donato and that tyke might do as a stop gap 3C but we need a decent one to slot in behind Nico . We can’t have Mercer or Dowling or Haula as our 2C …..playoffs are not happening if that’s our depth.
I can’t see anyone being added that will be good enough to make us contenders . Unless we add a crazy player or two like Rantanen and Boeser or Rakel . And that is very very unlikely to say the least

I think there’s a really good chance he isn’t back in 25-26. Unless there’s some kind of heater to end the season. And probably a super duper heater at that. Not because he scores 6 points in 10 games at some point.

His buyout probably isn’t that bad. Shouldn’t be too much worse than when we bought out the final year of Janne Kuokkanen 3 years ago.

Speaking of Janne, he couldn’t be worse than Haula.

4C for the rest of this year? Yes. 4C for next year? No thanks. Just let him go.

Those guys are why we are not a lottery team . It’s the useless bottom 6 that’s the issue. They contribute nothing at all.

Hmm, don’t think it’s those guys fault. 50 goals vs 35 against with Jack out there. 36-20 with Nico. 44-34 Bratt. 37-18 Timo. With good special teams play. I’m thinking it might be the other guys on the team.

They are also in a playoff spot currently. On the backs of these players with comically little help from the depth forwards.

Ya, for sure. That's where Fitz probably should've just shelved Haula for the year and went out and gotten someone but he probably got greedy and wishing that Haula could play through it but sadly couldn't

I always talk about the blue balls failed comebacks, which seem to happen a lot, both lately and all of last year.

Usually it involves us coming back enough to cut it to a one goal deficit. Sometimes with the goalie pulled, but it not tying the game cause we’re down by two instead of one.

Last night was the ultimate though. Come back to actually tie it, unlike other times when we don’t tie it at all, but just come within one. Only to completely lose the point with 4 seconds left in regulation.

Lol you're smoking something good if you think the core players are to blame for this year and not the atrocious doodoo bottom 6. They were the ones who willed them back versus Dallas only for Kovacevic, Haula and that line to make them lose in regulation.

Something tells me Fitz is gonna go for someone like Pageau or Coyle, which is kind of meh but probably a necessity if the cost is reasonable.

He has a small frame. He isn't going to get much bigger. He is excellent at avoiding hits. He was semi cheap shotted this time which is why he hit the boards.

To add to this, the falling down stuff has nothing to do with his size. It’s that he skates more on his edges and toes. That allows him to make quick moves and skate with speed. It also means he is going to lose his edges occasionally.

Fitz is on record as not being a big deadline guy, so not expecting the cavalry. The kind of moves we need are more offseason type.
