Not sure I understand the discourse around Jack having an attitude problem. Maybe I’ve missed some things but he seems liked by his teammates and the staff.
Jack may be blasé with the media and generic fan attention doesn't seem to be something he enjoys but everything I've seen with him shows him to be patient and caring with the young fans. I find it hard to fathom that someone showing that care is truly an attitude problem. Jack's been the star player his whole life. He's also small and slight and I'm sure been a target for opposing players and fans all along. I'm not surprised he's had to develop a thick skin.

the only issue with him long term in my view is whether you want to sign a 28 year old Jack to a big money 8 year deal. Of course, that's still years away and the team will be able to see how his health holds up in the interim.

Of course, if Jack goes I expect Luke to go as well.

Yeah, Jack and Luke are going ti be here for a long time. I guess we’ll see.

You will find arguments in one of previous posts. If you cant - sorry. I cant help, we can disagree here.
Cap exist, but we somehow have a cap for sign Pesche and Dillion. Somehow. And now we have cap. And evreything we didnt do is signing Stamkos. So you are talking about something I dont know. You can cyaing to everyone you want, no matter what kind of a deal you dont like or not, it doesnt make your lack of arumentations more proven or right.

If you think that my lack of religious confidence in the 100 % negativity of a particular player's contract somehow affects the detailed pricing in trades involving wingers and young talented defenders, so you're trying to connect unrelated things.
Man, idk if maybe we have a language barrier thing going on here, but this debate is simple and you haven't addressed it at all. It's honestly been incoherent most of the time.

In summary, you are 100% against moving any of the top 3 dman prospects for offensive help. Period. You believe in a fantasy land where impact forwards can easily be had in UFA. Ironically, you believe this despite the awful UFA Palat contract with a NMC currently on the books that has handicapped the moves the team could make for years now. You also act like the Devs are the only team in the league getting their own special, personal cap increase to take advantage of. There is a reason most Cup winners have to swing a key trade to get over the top, rather than simply fill out key positions via UFA.

I'm saying a trade might end up being their top option based on the organization being constructed to contend NOW - with a terrible forward prospect pipeline and a current top line entirely in its prime years. I also point out you can't make trades like the Markstrom one to win now (moving material assets. old. doesn't fit timeline) if you aren't in a position to seriously contend. Idk why you mentioned Stamkos, but hilariously UFA contracts like his prove my point even further and conflict with your view. So, thanks? Maybe re-read my original responses, since at this point I'm not sure you even understand your own argument. The end. Seriously this time.

Here’s my bi-monthly comment about Jack and Luke being “good guys”:

I know someone who volunteers for the hockey in NJ program. He’s not even a Devils fan, but he says both, especially Jack, are “God sends” for the program and they almost make him want to root for the Devils. Cliff notes:
-They show up often and not out of obligation like other players do. They just show up randomly because they want to.
-They’ll stay and skate with the kids the whole practice…not just show their face for 15 mins like most players do.
-They’re great with the kids and the kids will say things like “you see my friend Jack score last night?”

Side note: he told me the program used to beg PK to come and he never would. Then he showed up at the Ranger’s hockey in Harlem program and said something like “I wish there were more programs around like this.” Or something like that. He said that really pissed people in the NJ program off.

He’s not cake Makar

Meh. With the cap skyrocketing. 5.75 for another 2 years isn’t awful. If he can be a 50+ point guy I wouldn’t complain at that hit. He has the potential to pop off for an outlier season or two as well. Worth the risk.
I think that might be too much for what would be a 3C next year. If he was retained down to like 4 I’d have more interest. Dumping Haula would become an absolute necessity if he was acquired at the full cap hit.

1. yap. agree. hope he will not.

2. palat actually doesnt make it worser. He isnt great this year of course but we are telling about raising cap and even now we have space. We were in bidding wars for nashville forwards. If Palat saved us from overpaying for them - than thanks to Palat.

3. Bahl was never on the level with Nemec, Casey and Silayev. So yeah - go and trade Bahls and picks. But not prospects of high level. Of course if they can trade some of them for 24-28 yo center under control who is good positionally and has 65-70+ points track record - than okay, but I dont think someone will make this deal. Wingers? No thanks. We have two good wingers, we have Mercer with potential(we can upgrade him), we have Lenny and Gritsyuk. We dont need to spend top assets for wingers.

4. I dont wanna wait. I never said I wanna wait. I said I dont wanna trade young defensemen with top-4 pr even top-2 potential for wingers. Thats what I said. Wingers are available on the free agent market, on the trade market. For less.

If we are not talking about Bratt-level winger or higher.

Trading top-4 level young defensemen (or even top-2 potentially) is wrong strategy

because wingers are cheaper.

All the answers are in other post. You are making wrong conclusions.

that's really great to hear. As a father of three boys, you always hoped the pro athletes would be nice to them when they had a chance to meet them. I could care less if Jack or Luke don't want to take a picture with me or sign something for me.
