honestly jack played the four nations tournament like he didn't want to jeopardize the devils season by getting injured there. it was a meaningless tournament besides national pride - it wasn't the olympics and look at matt tkachukl being out for a long time now. I have no problem with that honestly.
though i do wish he had a better showing, we've seen him show up in big games and in the playoffs and not shy away from contact the way he did there. not taking anything from that tbh
Frank...not a jack hughes fan lol
isn't that the same thing as the Olympics?
He hasn't signed - and perhaps the Oilers didn't think he would. I don't understand how long teams hold rights, but this is his D+4 year, so possible his rights expire this summer?I guess we just got a little bigger. Kinda of curious why the Oilers gave up on him?
Lol yeah, the Blues are gonna trade Robert Thomas in the middle of their playoff run and them having him locked a great number. They're gonna go for depth pieces and hope they can sneak in and get Jack by R1 or R2
Unfortunately, Lachance is LWNice trade bringing in a AHL center and potential 4C for nothing.
I guess this all confirms Jack is done for the year, if they are brokering deals.
"playoff run"? lol they're like 11th in the West
(no they arent trading Thomas)
I’m not getting my hopes up but I imagine he will get the longest look next to Bratt which should help a ton.Borderline praying for Mercer to find his game at C.
Everything after the holiday break has been such a bummer. And I don't know that I fault Fitz for not biting on any deal, the GMs from these deadbeat teams are desperate to save face.
Generally other players with shoulder problems have been fine after getting surgery on it to tighten everything back up.This strikes me as a major major f***ing problem. Are there other players who had recurring shoulder injuries like this that we can look at to get a sense of what kind of impact this might have on Jack’s career?
I’m saying this means he is probably out until the playoffs are longer.Unless Jack is literally out till the playoffs what’s the point in that? And if he is good luck to Fitz magically hoping he’ll come back day one and be vintage, assuming we haven’t outright blown a spot.

Inventing made up scenarios
never change
Even setting aside the physical concern of the shoulder being injury prone and possible permanent damage impacting his effectiveness…there’s the potential mental ramifications that could negatively impact his effectiveness. How is he supposed to go out there and play to his full capacity knowing he could blow out his shoulder at any moment?
If he doesn’t becoming damaged goods after this it will be a miracle.
And as fans we have to bank on this leadership group to potentially replace Jack at this juncture when even with him they still haven’t managed to graduate this team to consistent playoff team yet?
This is a nightmare scenario.
