Should bringing Mercer with Jack be considered? If I remember correctly, he had good results with Jack.

I'm surprised it hasn't happened much this season under Keefe. From what I can see, when Jack played briefly with Timo and Mercer, they dominated possession in the mere 21 minutes they played together. 4 GF, 0 GA, 20-8 shots for/against, 64.8% CF%

I think they’d have to break up Jack and Bratt to do that, which I wouldn’t mind trying. I just want the deadline to be here already so we have an idea what the lineup will look like down the stretch. I’ve seen enough 3C Dowling. And even Haula to be honest.

Matias Maccelli, a buy low option for the Devils? He has been a healthy scratch lately, and Friedman speculated he might be available. Maccelli is soft but skilled player, and he had 57 points last season but only 18 points this season.

I know the Devils need a scorer and a 3C, but I think they could use a skill in their third or even second line.

Puckpedia only has them slated to have 1.7 at the deadline, so I wouldn't expect them to be heavy buyers anyway
I'm not sure if it is right sum. The number seems to change daily. A week or two ago the Devils' deadline cap space was about $5 million.

They have at least 3 players in who should not be starting playoff games. I don’t know you can remake that in a deadline while pushing others down the lineup.

If we can replace 2 of them I'll be happy. Concern over guys playing in a playoff game here or there is not a cause for worry.. Heck Dowling played in a cup game for Dallas. Actually in 13 playoff games for them. But we need an upgrade at 3C desperately. Especially for a playoff run.

You know who needs to score more besides timo? Bratt. 2 goals in 16 games is shit. And if you dive back further he only has 3 goals in 27 games.

he literally just set the franchise record for games in a row with an assist and is top 10 in the league in scoring.

hockey is not all just GOALZ = GOOD. Open up your mind a little bit.

We should definitely spend all of our assets on good wingers. Get all of them. Then line them up next to Haula and Dowling, and continue to wonder why it's not working.

If the Devils won the Cup in 17 games instead of 16 games, you'd find some way to bitch about it. Bratt is least of our f***ing worries.

The risk with Haula was always there, he was a journeyman for his entire career. There's a clear reason for that, he's a decent PKer and when he actually shows up 5v5, he's good. But when he's off, he's below replacement. Vegas went through the same stretch with him where his first year there was really good and then he tapered off into oblivion.

Per Moneypuck, as a team, we have, 5v5, 130.81 expected goals this season. 6th in the league! Per 60, we're 8th in the league!

Same situation, we have 114 ACTUAL goals; 19th in the league. Per 60, 5v5, we average 2.32 ACTUAL goals. That's 20th in the league.

So someone tell me, whether:
-We're good offensively 5v5, as indicated by the expected goals.
-We're bad offensively 5v5, which explains the lack of actual goals.
-Expected goals is a stupid stat.

And then apply the same logic to Timo Meier to be consistent.

I'd also like them to apply the same logic to Ondrej Palat to be uber consistent.
