In the last 19 game it doesn't look like Evans has done anything but stink. If my math is correct he has 1 goal and 3 assists in that time and is a -4. That's a slight upgrade on Haula but for a second round pick? I'd probably look elsewhere. There's probably some failed center on another team that can be mediocre plus for NJ for less than a second.
Really sounds as if Fitzy has been talking to Seattle the most. Chicago was smart to wait to move Donato, its a full on bidding war for him

Even better…we got a 3rd round pick back and have Winnipeg’s 2nd round pick from the Toffoli trade. Too bad that 2nd is virtually a 3rd with the Jets likely finishing with a top 2-3 record. We do not have our own third round pick though (Allen trade). We have two seconds and a third.Didn't we also get a 4th in the Cotter trade? Could be a nice spare asset in the backpocket.

That’s right! I forgot about this one. From the Marino trade?we have Edmonton's 2nd as well this year
three 2nds (NJ, EDM, WPG), one 3rd (VGK)
Lots of assets to play with. We're sitting pretty well for the deadline or even at the draft for another Kovy-esque trade if there are any leftovers.we have Edmonton's 2nd as well this year

64% on the season, but 55% in the last 20. 52% in the last 10.That's fair but he's being relied upon heavily defensively. I think almost 80% defensive zone starts. Solid on draws and an excellent penalty killer.
Yeah my bad, forgot neutral zone starts for some reason. A little more offense would help with his value too.64% on the season, but 55% in the last 20.
The team probably saw that workload taking a toll.
Not when you have Hamilton, Pesce signed long term with Kovacevic as a pending UFA and Casey killing it in Utica. While Nemec is underperforming and without a clear role in PP (behind Hamilton, Luke and arguably Casey) and without a clear role on the PK since his defense is still a weakness. Not to mention he’s an offense first defenseman without dynamic scoring ability.I do think there’s a reasonable discussion to be had whether it’s time to cut bait on Mercer.
“It’s time to trade Nemec” is crazy talk
I recall a rumor posted on HFB around mid-season that Ken Hughes wanted a 1st for Allen. That is why I wasn't too upset GMTF didn't solve the goalie issue earlier - I feel the market was ridiculous for buyers.Considering there have been rumors Fitzgerald likes Evans and has checked in on Evans already, there could be something to this. Then again, we were already in Montreal yesterday anyway so it may not mean all that much. We shall see.
@MakoSlade I have that same impression as you about their GM. At the time, I thought a conditional second round pick was a steep price for Allen (didn’t envision him being this solid). If their asking price is too high, simply move on.
I just think MTL will try to sell him based on his early hit streak and at this point workload or no workload I wouldn’t buy him on that basis as opposed to what he’s doing now. If he’s going to play mostly defense to ease some of Hischier’s burden he’s likely to produce more or less what he’s done since the new year. To me that’s just not worth a second.Yeah my bad, forgot neutral zone starts for some reason. A little more offense would help with his value too.
I'd be surprised if he is.Hamilton has to be gone this summer.
Agreed. Move on from him, sign Kovacevic.Hamilton has to be gone this summer.
I think it depends on Kovacevic, can’t see both leaving or both stayingI'd be surprised if he is.
I'd love jared mccann on this team man. doubt seattle trades him thoughReally sounds as if Fitzy has been talking to Seattle the most. Chicago was smart to wait to move Donato, its a full on bidding war for him

They're not moving Hamilton. He's still a top 10 defenseman in offensive rating right behind Makar, Werenski, Q. Hughes, Bouchard, Fox, Karlsson, Dahlin and Harley.Hamilton has to be gone this summer.
