These lines won't even last the length of their next game. It's whatever.

What's weirder is people thinking Lawson Crouse will solve their problems. He's a strict bottom-sixer. Like, if they traded more than a third for him I'd be like wtf.
I won't speak to Crouse because I don't watch him enough, but I'm in camp "fix the bottom six." I think if you do that, things will work themselves out. If the bottom 6 can shoulder some of the load, be a threat randomly and/or stop threats, it allows so many more strategic matchups than we currently have.

The players don't have to be stars, hell, even with as bad as Haula has been, I fully believe him coming back will be a massive help regardless of points. Line flexibility is massive.

I think Crouse would help the bottom-six from the general perspective of helping them carry the play more. He is an asset defensively.

You specified whether he can help the bottom-six be a "threat". That he cannot. He is not an offensive player. And for multiple seasons his team has undershot their offensive creation metrics when he's on the ice.

I think the locker room stuff is overblown. He would help this year's team a lot.

Problem is cost, and the long term fit with both his age and the cap.

We are still probably just a stalking horse to make the Rags pony up those extra picks

They've scored 2 or less goals in 8 of their last 11 games. Not surprising that Keefe is trying something different. It's not like he has to stick with pre-game line combos the entire game anyway.

He might be the spark the team needs to stop collapsing like this. Or he might not. If not then I can't imagine the team collapse any worse with him than they already have at some point the past 3 seasons.

yeah but the problem is that he is signed for FIVE more seasons after this one, this isn't like he'd come in and then be gone

if it doesn't work, we're f***ed.

Nobody but the people who have actually been in a locker room with him know. Luckily we have two players who have and two brothers of another one who is currently sharing a locker room with him. If we traded for him, I'd trust Fitz did his due diligence there.

I do respect the aggressiveness if Fitz did it, even though it could blow up in his face and we end up with Palat 2.0+ in a couple years.

Fortune favors the bold sometimes.

I said this on the main board and some idiot said that if Jack/Luke heard something bad from Quinn, the Devils would still go through with it lmao. Palat's opinion would probably be the most revealing about JT Miller

Eight million seems really fair for a PPG+ player; and the cap is going up! Heck, we pay Timo more than that and he isnt even on the powerplay!
I'm less concerned about the player Miller is now than I am the player he will be going forward. It's possible he's one of those players that ages well and you get another 3-4 years of similar production, but I think it's unlikely.
