Hopefully they keep winning games in 2025. It's so much better/enjoyable when the Devils are playing well and winning(which they have done plenty).

Sucks they messed with our NYE but these games happen unfortunately. It's hard not to be emotionally invested in this team...just start the year right in LA.

Looks like I'll be leaving Optimum for cable and exploring my internet options.

Well I didnt know where else to put this but Optimum has shut of MSG. So unless something happens you wont be able to watch the game tomorrow on Cable.

Looks like I'll be leaving Optimum for cable and exploring my internet options.

I think the idea is they want you to buy a premium package to get access to MSG with optimum? Or am I reading that wrong?

In that case yea see you later cable, literally the only reason I had it is to watch Devils games. Still gonna call up to complain though lol.

Same thing for me I kept it just because of Devils games my wife was ready to stop 3 years ago. I already got Fubo which has a free trial for 7 days and then a reduced price for the first month. It has unlimited Cloud DVR and I tend to watch games delayed so I wanted to keep that option for myself.

But that is the idea behind it. It’s normal Cable TV antics. But I’m done with Optimum at this point. I’ll probably stick with Fubo and get a different internet service.

Direct TV Stream also has MSG networks.

If you access MSG+ (Gotham Sports Network) through your Optimum account then you won’t have access. If you pay monthly for the service you should have access.

Basically from what I can see you have 3 maybe 4 options. Fubo or Direct TV Stream both have MSG Networks. You can pay monthly for Gotham Sports Network or by game I think. ESPN+ might have something but I didn’t look into that or if they have blackout restrictions.

I literally checked it last night at 1205am and it was gone lol. I ordered Fubo at 1215am.

As soon as I decide about internet service I’ll be canceling Optimum.

Yes, the game is on the Gotham app.

If you access Gotham via optimum, it's blocked. If you pay separately, you should be fine.

I guess the thought is that those people leaving cable will eventually get to the Gotham App where MSG will make more money?

I know we are in a disruption/transition period, and eventually it will smooth over, but watching games should not be getting more difficult.

It seems like you can watch the game today. But the Hulu games are subject to blackout restrictions unless it’s a streaming game only. If I understand right.

The squeeze on sports fans for every last penny is so depressing.

f*** Optimum. I woke up today as I had voiced a complaint that my upload speeds were slow. They wake me up by coming 3 hours earlier than they scheduled and the technician states multiple people in my apartment had the same issue today. I had to use the bathroom for a minute and when I return he asked me to run a test again and everything is working now. He told me while I was away for one minute, he tightened all of the cables from the router to the wall. Bullshit, my internet was working perfectly a few days earlier and nothing changed in terms of the hardware. He didn't even give me time to run a test before any of the changes he made to confirm it wasn't already fixed. This is their way to claim that it was an onsite issue and charge me a service fee.

I then go to my phone and see multiple texts from Optimum. The next text is telling me that Optimum cancelled MSG and I will have to purchase Fubo to watch MSG.

Happy New Years. Thanks Optimum for kicking off 2025 with a bang.

I guess it depends on who you believe. Each have their story. I believe MSG wants to stay in the basic tier to get more eyes on the teams but Optimum wants to move them. My guess is MSG wants to charge Optimum more and to off set that Optimum wants them on a more expensive package to offset the cost.

I dunno cable dynamics are crazy. Add the aspect of regional sports networks which are also dying across the country and it’s a recipe for chaos.

I think most Devils fans were praying for the Devils to leave MSG during the last contract negotiations. But they stayed people wanted them to move to YES or SNY.
