This is absolutely blowing up in Vancouver right now by the way.
Looks like Pettersson is available
Allvin went on blast basically, Not sure what you guys would offer, or how seriously you would be interested, He would obviously need a Haul.
But, just thought I would share and get your guys opinions!
Not everyday a 90+ Center with great Defensive abilities becomes available.

Thoughts?
Welcome! I don’t want to say it but I think the Rangers would happily kick the tires for Petey.

Maybe something like Miller, Perreault, and a protected 1st for Pettersson. Would Canucks fans say yes?

there is no way that would be enough for Petey. I think it would have to start with Fox from the Rangers.

K’Andre’s value has take a massive hit this year and he’s due a big boy raise soon

The team trading the player generally does not get equal value back. I could not see Fox going the other way.

I’m sure the Rangers would want to include Zibanejad. Ultimately I don’t think Pettersson gets traded unless Vancouver wants to go full rebuild and accepts futures. Otherwise as you’ve noted they likely lose the trade.

We wouldn’t be able to trade for Petterson for cap reasons anyway, but also the package we’d have to send would be big. Prohibitively so.

Like we’d probably have to start with Mercer and Nemec and keep adding.

Petterson is now in a long stretch of struggling. With that contract i doubt he brings back a Nemec level prospect.

Mercer i could see. But as you say we can’t handle that contract.

I'm not sure how the Rangers would afford to acquire Pettersson, tbh. They're not going to want to part with their best asset (2025 1st), and their prospect pool is whatever. Maybe they trade Perrault, but what are they adding to him? Even bad Petersson is worth more than him.

Also, Petey, Hughes and Nico isn’t great from a team construction standpoint. It’s a great all-star team, but I can’t see all three getting PP1 time. Plus, it makes the team softer when there’s already a concern.

IMO, Devils should be looking for a guy like Jordan Staal as 3C - big, strong defensively, drives the net.

I know Parsinnen hadn’t been good lately, but I would have preferred a flyer on him vs trying to figure out a Petterson trade.

I’d do Chytil, Kreider, Cullye and a pick / prospect. Obvs that only works if Canucks think Chytil is ok long term.

Don't see NJ being a good fit, as Hughes and Hischier won't be going anywhere and that's too much to pay both in terms of acquisiton cost and salary for a 3rd center. I think Carolina if Vancouver has the guts to acquire Necas unextended, and believes he can play C is where he's going if he's being traded at all (and I hate it).

Who can do their Google news magic that I always somehow conveniently forget to figure out when accessing these articles?

This is only like the 3rd article I can recall the new guy even writing (I know it’s probably more, but still) It sucks going from Novo to this new guy. At least now we’re lucky to have other and better options in Kristy Flannery, James Nichols, Daniel Amoia, Alex Chauvancy, Trey Matthews…I’m sure I’m forgetting some too. All those names are constantly putting out Devils content.

Wasn't he also being un-reporter-like on Twitter when he was livetweeting one of their games? The Devils subreddit was a bit sore about that. For my money (literally) the best source is Infernal Access. Still, a beat reporter gets the best access and has the inside track on the most insightful articles, and we just don't have a good one right now.

I vaguely remember hearing some get upset because he posted an obnoxious “hahahahaha” or something like that during a game the Devils blew…I think. Novo definitely didn’t keep it solely professional beat writer either, but he more catered to the online consensus feelings of the fanbase, which I think is part of the reason he was so popular. I just liked him because he was constantly pumping out content.

Edit: and yeah totaling forgot about Todd Cordell

I still have a few records. Maybe a dozen. No turntable though

I kept them mainly for the art. Nothing like an Iron Maiden album cover and sleeve.
Too bad.:(
Those records you ditched would be a blessing today. Turntables are available again and range from cheap (avoid) to an outrageous amount (only if you are either rich or crazy).

my brother ended up with my records when my parents got rid of everything when they retired and moved. They took up two milk crates. It's funny how these things worked. I recall being absolutely ecstatic when CDs were introduced. No more scratching or noise. I still have all my CDs and whatever differences there are in the listening experience I've never really noticed but to be fair I've never done a test against a record and it's not like my teenage record player was audiophile level. We got my middle son a solid record player and he's slowly collecting vinyl. My wife has gone to a few garage sales to look at records for him. We had a near miss on a butcher cover and someone beat her to the Court of the Crimson King. We were able to land him a Can't Buy a Thrill the Buffalo Springfield album (that one must have been quite old) a couple of Motown albums (Marvin Gaye and a hits collection) and a few others. The only problem with the garage sale route is that in today's world folks want about $15-$20 per album and you roll the dice on the sound quality.

To me the biggest scam was the 8 track tape. I know they have their fans but we had three or four 8 track players over the years and none were able to play one track. There was always some background sound from another song playing. That soured me on them quickly.

Not sure where to put this, but why does UNLV have pretty much the same exact jersey as we do for our Jersey jersey thirds. Literally the same combo.

Who had it first? Please don't tell me we ripped it off from them... And that Addidas put zero effort into ours.

I even counted the arm stripes against my Nico one, looks the same count, same pattern/size.

I'm pretty sure Marty had a lot of input in the design of the uniforms, zero chance UNLV designed it first.

It does show they're more popular than people think. I like them.

I like our Jersey jersey too, just hoping it was at least ripped from ours first.

I remember them saying even the stripe count represented the counties in NJ and so forth.

Just curious I saw that jersey and had to do a double take.... Maybe we got royalties?

I remember the UNLV one being announced like 2-3 months ago.

Aren't our Jersey jerseys based off of a team that played in Newark in the early 1900's?

Yup Newark Bulldogs.

I feel I've seen it with a bulldog insignia but not positive on that.

Ya, they had a jersey with a logo too.

A year before the Jersey Jersey came out, my Dad actually had knockoffs of the Newark jersey made based off the jersey hanging by the entrance. He took photos, sent it off to a factory, and they put it together. It looks pretty good but now it looks like he made some weird knockoff of the Jersey Jersey.

Thank you. That makes sense... Relief to know we are setting it right...

for the millionth time.

its a f***ing hawks rip off. they brought them back for the 2019 winter classic and we shamelessly copied them

retire the farce already

LP talk? i'm in

started back in the 90s. most of them were found for a 50 cents or buck or so for years before the prices skyrocketed. i've bought new albums i want which rarely happens these days and never buy reissues that are insane at 40, 50 bucks a pop.

shit, a friend just bought a dylan hits record for 40$ to give his brother in law.

these two were a buck each.
