I like our Jersey jersey too, just hoping it was at least ripped from ours first.

I remember them saying even the stripe count represented the counties in NJ and so forth.

Just curious I saw that jersey and had to do a double take.... Maybe we got royalties?
I remember the UNLV one being announced like 2-3 months ago.

Aren't our Jersey jerseys based off of a team that played in Newark in the early 1900's?
I'm not a fan of the Jersey jersey. What do you think of this jersey with the Devil's logo instead?

Yup Newark Bulldogs.

I feel I've seen it with a bulldog insignia but not positive on that.

They're ok. I don't like the collar and the black with red and white striping is overdone.

I wouldn't mind going with a primary red and green color scheme. I love unique color schemes. Kind of like the Vikings and Lakers purple and yellow, Commanders maroon and yellow. I'd love to see the Ducks go back to the purple and teal.

Ya, they had a jersey with a logo too.

A year before the Jersey Jersey came out, my Dad actually had knockoffs of the Newark jersey made based off the jersey hanging by the entrance. He took photos, sent it off to a factory, and they put it together. It looks pretty good but now it looks like he made some weird knockoff of the Jersey Jersey.

Not sure where to put this, but why does UNLV have pretty much the same exact jersey as we do for our Jersey jersey thirds. Literally the same combo.

Who had it first? Please don't tell me we ripped it off from them... And that Addidas put zero effort into ours.

I even counted the arm stripes against my Nico one, looks the same count, same pattern/size.

We did. Teams at that level for the most part don’t have custom uniforms (outside a logo). They are usually patterned after an NHL uniform.

I played club hockey for the university of miami, which was a similar club/non affiliated division as UNLV back then; our jerseys were literally the flyers home, road, and black alternates but with a U instead of the flyers logo.

I think some people see a college school with jerseys and assume D1 or even D2 sports but it really isn’t. I hadn’t played organized hockey in three years before school but was the 2nd line center lol. We practiced once a week tops, but really more like once a month because ice was expensive and we were a club team with limited (see: no) funding. Our coach was a frat guy.

That’s what makes this upset so monumental. None of those kids went to school to play hockey. Most of those kids probably assumed their hockey career was over when they graduated high school. (And, more to the point, that’s what makes the rip-off of the jersey a non-issue. It’s not like Duke basketball suddenly deciding to wear LA Laker rip-offs.)

Yea - he was one of the youngest players in the draft and barely played his draft year. He was still fairly regularly ranked high despite the missing time, people had a lot of faith in him DESPITE missing most of the year.
I always saw him as a conservative pick. An easy pick. He had two brothers in the league excelling. He’s bigger and stronger than both. No team would have better insight into Luke than NJ or Vancouver. Just an easy pick. You were almost guaranteed an NHL player with him even if he didn’t develop his offense to where he has. I don’t think it was just that he was Jack’s brother but that made the pick even easier .

I don't know if this has already been mentioned here, but Puljujarvi would be available for minimum salary. I come from his camp but his treatment by Sullivan was really strange. At the time the doghouse started he'd scored five points in six games in the bottom6, which was the 2nd best rate of the team. Plus minus and some advanced stats among the best of the team too. Much better than the other ones in bottom6.

He also had a stretch of 1,5 years when he scored ES goals at the second best rate in the Oilers, so while he wasn't consistent enough I think he could offer potential for a great pick for this salary now that he seems healthy after the hip operation.

I was never a big Puljarvi guy, but he does bring a good shot rate, decent hit rate, good size, good on ice numbers, and with Pitt, he's not being given easy assignments like he was in Edm.

Not sure why coaches have disliked him so much. I can kind of figure it I guess. and it's probably unlikely we bring him into what is now a sound defensive team, but there is some intriguing aspects there and at least at this point he'd be dirt cheap.

The presence of Jack just made the pick a must.

Luke was probably the right pick anyways, but with Jack there was no not picking Luke.

And you guys played Div 1 teams?

Is this UNLV team a club team?

I guess I need to look into this story.

Edit: Yup UNLV is a club team. Game was only an exhibition, and Denver clobbered them in the shot dept, 64-17, but still a fun story.

we did not play Div 1 teams. We played Div III Marian University from Wisconsin in a multi-team event in Gainesville one year, and lost 6-1. I was a -3 and extremely hungover.

100% true except now we apparently have to buy records again.
The majority of music fans became victims of the "new way to listen to music best" if you ditched your records and got burned by the planned obsolescence scheme that changed the whole way music was sold making each last trend you bought into worthless due to the change to the next one, aka tapes, 8-tracks, cds, etc.

I kept my records, have a great turntable and speakers, and yes the LP stores are now all over the place selling both new and s**t load of used vinyl in mint condition allowing you to fill in the missing links in your collection. Many artists are recording in vinyl once again. Audiophiles around the world are saying it's true that the best way to listen to music is on vinyl. NO S**T!!!!!!!!!!!

Thinking about the trade deadline. In 2025 we have 3- 2 round picks, 1- 3rd, 1- 4th, 2- 6ths.
Looks like puckpedia has us at: $3,760,150 at TDL if no addl moves until then.

For argument's sake if they chased a Nelson ($6M), or a Palms ($5M) to get one of them we'd give up a 2nd and ......?
To get retained at 1/2 off (Isles have all 3 slots to do so). Do we get a third party involved and what's that cost look like?

I'd like to see if they could also add Mathieu Oliveri in CBJ (Evans in Mtl similar). Again, costs?
Lastly what prospects Utica or otherwise allow the above to happen. And I know we are not giving up X, Y and Z players. I'm asking who we feel comfortable with?

Diotte was mentioned the other day, and he just happen to sign his ELC today. Just gauging value and who is available from our picks/prospects to the crowd. thx

Diotte signed his ELC in March, that one poster has a habit of necro bumping old threads on the prospect board for updates.

One factor might be that it seems unanimous that this year's draft is shallow, so we might see teams send out 1st rounders for lesser players than we've seen in the past. Ie, I'd guess that Nelson fetches a 1st. Typically centers get more at the deadline and there'll be teams that view Nelson as a #2 while we're looking for an upgrade at #3. Minnesota/Dallas seem to be mentioned with Nelson, although Minnesota already dealt this year's #1 for David Jiricek.

Palmieri maybe fetches something closer to what Toffoli got (2nd+3rd). But I'm not sure where Palmieri would fit on this roster. We have some combination of Bratt-Mercer-Noesen as the top 9 RWs. Not sure I'd want to shift Mercer to center and I'm not sure Palmieri is comfortable at LW (otherwise Anaheim would have kept him when they had a log jam).

At least for me, I don't think we necessarily need to get a big splash at the deadline. A recent Athletic article listed us as somebody who'd go after Brandon Tanev who'd be a better LW4 than Tatar. And then getting another bottom six center (preferably RH) could be nice. Nico Sturm was mentioned before as somebody who might not cost an arm and a leg, but could slot in.

I can't say I've watched a ton of them in recent years, but maybe Jordan Greenway or Radek Faksa (decent faceoff guy) could be fallback targets?

This is absolutely blowing up in Vancouver right now by the way.
Looks like Pettersson is available
Allvin went on blast basically, Not sure what you guys would offer, or how seriously you would be interested, He would obviously need a Haul.
But, just thought I would share and get your guys opinions!
Not everyday a 90+ Center with great Defensive abilities becomes available.

Thoughts?

Welcome, thanks for joining us here. We already have one of those centers here (Hischier) and he’s not being paid $11 million.
