Even if I give you Luke, Siegs is a bottom pairing D at this point. Maybe Pesce fills that role on D, maybe he can't but either way they do have to replace Bahl with an upgrade.

Give Siegs the opportunity to bounceback under Keefe and get like a Kulikov or Brodie. He’s only making 3.4 and it’s not like you need him to be some mega stud anyway. He’s also likely got negative value currently using Walman as the gauge. Makes more sense to give him a shot than adding an almost surefire bad deal in Pesce

they could still do that by separating the top 6 a bit whenever needed. Bratt, Hughes, and Hischier could all potentially be on separate lines when needed and that's not including Meier who'll still be with one of them even if the Devils do separate those three. I don't think the 4th line is much of a worry, we just saw Florida win the cup with Kyle Okposo and Steven Lorentz as mainstays there. Lazar and Bastian are competent enough 4th line guys so I think the Devils are good there.
If Meier isnt on a line with Hischier hes being wasted here; he doesnt work with Hughes and hes best with a primary playmaker, not running a 'third' second line

If they think we’re their best deal they 100% would.
If there feel like it is a huge overpay on our end they will. That said we are a team they have to directly compete with and presumably beat. How much you are helping that team is a factor in these type of deals. It isn’t like trading a player to the other conference where you don’t compete for spots, or even the other division where there are three reserved slots that can be taken.

Necas for anything above 7m would be a bad deal (for us) and itd probably require Mercer going the other way if they arent signing Guentzel

Not to mention he isnt what we should be surrounding Jack with (more skilled forwards who lack physicality)

He would score a lot though; at that point why not Ehlers for cheaper?
