I have never met someone who uses the word “snowflake” to form a cogent thought. I appreciate the confirmation bias.
I’m glad that nobody else has Gritsyuk fatigue. A chance to train and work out for the organization that drafted you before the coronavirus lockdown seems like something a player eager to earn a spot on the roster would be taking advantage of. But I guess that makes me a spurned lover. Or a snowflake? Lmk.
This is not what development camp is. It is a chance for younger players to show their ability and learn about how to become a professional hockey player. The team usually invites some undrafted players to potentially earn an AHL (or NHL) contract, or at least a camp invite where they can then earn that.
The Devils did not invite Alex Holtz, Luke Hughes, or Simon Nemec to development camp in 2023, even though none of them had made the NHL yet. There was no reason for them to come, so they didn't. I'm not sure that someone like Ethan Edwards will be attending this year's, as he's attended at least 3 others (I think they weren't held in 2021, so he's only been eligible to attend 3).
