Devils discussion (news, notes and speculation) - 2026-27 offseason part III

  • If you are having issues logging in, we have found opening the log in page in a new tab/window rather than using the pop out should resolve these issues. We are working to get this resolved and thank you for patience.
  • Due to the increased volume of league transactions, the Trade Rumors and Free Agent Talk section is temporarily restricted to where threads may only be started by moderators and sponsors. We anticipate that this restriction will be lifted some time after the first round of the draft.
FWIW, one of the redwings fans had him listed as a guy they were worried about getting rid of in that thread on the main board.

Also under Max Bultman's tweet Red Wing fans called him the most skilled C they have in their pipeline

Only issue is he's only played in half the games the last 2 years.

If he can stay healthy this looks like it could be prove to be a big win of a trade.

Hahaha yes I know you are always right.

I just want something else that’s good to happen (like everyone else here) so I can forget that we just gave away nemec
Blame Fitz. He never valued young players or draft picks or prospects. He had no idea how to create a sustainable team. He wanted to UFA his way to respectability and failed to realize that you can't give out everyone's retirement contract.

Know absolutely nothing about him but his AHL numbers look strong and Wings fans seem bummed they gave him up. Seems like someone very worthy of taking a shot on.
If he does clear waivers (and I think that's probably reasonable if he can't crack the lineup out of camp), Utica could also desperately use him in the middle, so probably not the worst use of 4th round pick in a rough draft.

And you just never know what you can uncover.

I mentioned it earlier when talking about how Florida was built...everyone talks about the Sam and Tkachuks and etc etc etc....but that team got huge boosts from smashing small trades and moves like this (Forsling, Marchment, Verhaege, etc). Lombardi appears to have some offensive juice

Deal with Red Wings and no Larkin. Means we’re out on Larkin? It’s too bad, because Nico desperately needs help

I have a feeling that a big player Sunny is targeting isn't in the least of so called "available players".

He makes 1.6 million, this isn’t nothing. I think another D is on the way out

He is a cheap puck mover who isn’t good defensively. Prob spells the end for Casey
