Devils discussion (news, notes and speculation) - 2026-27 offseason part III

  • If you are having issues logging in, we have found opening the log in page in a new tab/window rather than using the pop out should resolve these issues. We are working to get this resolved and thank you for patience.
  • Due to the increased volume of league transactions, the Trade Rumors and Free Agent Talk section is temporarily restricted to where threads may only be started by moderators and sponsors. We anticipate that this restriction will be lifted some time after the first round of the draft.
If they can add a one season two way wing it would be ok for this upcoming season. See what a new executive with no ties to anyone can bring out and hope Markstrom can squeeze out a halfway decent season and that given more flexibility that Keefe can get better results with this group. If they can make the playoffs it’s improvement. If they can win a round or two it would be a successful season for all intents and purposes.

Bratt Jack Brown
Grits Glass Mercer
Xxxx Hischier Meier

After this season you can create more roster space and cap.

Hopefully see some action, I’m just worried I’m gonna have to watch the same forward group for the 5th year in a row with little to no changes. Obviously not at the fault of Sunny.
I think we may just get one of the UFAs if trades don’t work

Arvidsson, Marchment, Zucc or one of them for sure.

I mean Casey wouldn't exactly shock me, he never seemed to be in anyone's plans but I don't know what you'd even get for him. Moving Dillon wouldn't shock me although you do hope we bring in someone else that's good in the locker room at some point.

would love to add Larkin. He is good friends with the Hughes bros and maybe means Quinn would eventually come here. I’d offer 12th, 35th, and Mercer. 30 years old and 8 aav

Everybody seems to want to go to like 3-4 teams lately and we're not one of them, so I'm not getting my hopes too high this summer. We cleared the logjam at RD, it sounds like Nico and Grits will get signed, which needed to happen. It sounds like Sunny is at least trying to move Fitz's albatross Markstrom. I'm not going to hold that against him if he can't move him. It is kind of frustrating to see a team like Washington, a direct competitor, taking big swings while we're not really doing much so far. But, it is June 24th, so there's still plenty of offseason left.

We need to stop with this. 3rd and 4th lines are set. Don't bother
Trust me I want a true top 6 guy as much as anyone but I’m trying to keep it realistic given where Fitz left us at. Would be disappointed if one of them are the biggest forward addition but it is what it is.

we " should" have enough trade capital now to land one. Pick #`12, the Calgary picks we just got , Silayev , Casey , Mercer etc.
