Look, its not you its him. He just needs something a bit more soothing in his life something that doesn't keep him awake all night. He had good times with you but the relationship you have is a bit.. toxic and dysfunctional.

I think it's for the best if you both move on.

Damn, Canucks fans really are in their feelings right now. Pissed at EP.
I have him in Fantasy. He hits a little bit but otherwise he is not bringing much to the table. Considering dropping him.

But if we got our azzes handed at home by a west coast team, I imagine we'd be pretty deep right now too.

Just finished the game.

Obviously the best game of the season.

They’ve played their best hockey in the last 4 games, losses even included. They’ve looked like a team that’s finally starting to click as a full squad.

Aside from the production, I don’t think people around the league really appreciate how good Nico is at everything. On that Meier goal, he wins the battle to the puck in the defensive zone, skates it up, drops to Meier, and then stick checks Meyers long enough to clear a shooting lane for Meier. Just a total pro.

Now that was an impressive win. Adding Pesce and Luke, I believe gives us one of the top defense in the league. Our forwards all played well, however, I’m happy to see Jack regaining his mojo and Mercer is looking like he did in his rookie season. I root for Mercer too do well after having a tough season last year. I’m a fan of the kid, he’s our iron man.

I think Nemec will end up in Utica in due time. I think it's been a matter of timing more than anything with so many games on the schedule and this road trip that they probably wanted to have him here in case of a setback for Pesce or even Luke.

I imagine DeSimone will come up in his place eventually so Nemec can play. I'll be surprised if they keep him here much longer without playing him regularly.

Did we actually look as good as the box score would indicate or was Van THAT bad?
We were legit that good.

Best defensive game in two years, easily. Crisp passing, beautiful boardwork. Looked like an actual hockey team rather than a bunch of super talented kids playing pond hockey.

I don't remember hearing Jt miller, Petterson or Boeser's name all night bc they were tightly checked. Only Quinn went a little Niedermayer on us, and we were on the PK alot but that was as comfortable and inspiring a win as we've had in years.

More please.

The full play by Nico on Timo’s was honestly the best play I’ve seen in quite a while. Block a shot, corral it, around the defender, drop to Timo, and run a pick to clear the lane for Timo. A thing of beauty.
They seem to have great chemistry; having guys grown-up together seems to be working for us

Unfortunately, I just pulled the plug on my mom this morning. Between being up all night with her and taking small naps all day between dealing with funeral arrangements, my sleep pattern is all screwed up, so I should be good to go for the full game tonight. I'm hoping to get a nice win to pick up spirits.
So sorry for your loss, that’s so much to go through, hoping you get through the next few days alright and then get to take all the time you need.

Had too much coffee to sleep
Not really a coffee person but I think I've built up an immunity to caffeine. I can chug a 20 oz Dew and then sleep like a baby. Well, for 6 hours at a stretch anyway since my body refuses to sleep for any longer unless I'm sick, so maybe it's a delayed reaction lol

And yet another point for the Brattman.

Streak is alive.

Also, last thing about that SHG which was really nice, (for those that didn't watch the game or only highlights), that SHG goal was generated at the end of the shift for the PK guys, so Mercer/Nico were already on the ice for like a minute and a half, and they were able to do that final rush up ice and bury it.

That was a hell of a PK shift marathon.

Utica has the worst forward group in the AHL. I might be exaggerating but there's a good chance I'm not. It's an organizational flaw where they haven't even attempted to get the AHL club better. There's NOTHING there outside of Casey, potentially Nemec, and then fringe guys like Villen. There are no forwards at all.
:thumbu: I'm glad someone at the NJ end has come to see what I have been saying since August.

You left out Misyul.

Daws had 1 bad game and is actually playing well and his numbers are terrible thanks to the horrid lack of help both he and Poulter are getting. The forwards are terrible offensively and non existent in their own end. I have never seen a team lacking in hockey skills like this one.

Beckman looks to be a good forward, but no matter who he is aligned with, he's not getting a lot of help.

Since the initial season paired with NJ, the Devils have done absolutely nothing to provide their farm with a competitive team.

Fitz literally said he made a mistake when he did this with Holtz…. It hasn’t been too long yet but he can’t let this drag on

Holtz sat for almost an entire month in November, and then he would sit again for almost an entire month in January. Nemec will get a lot of practice time on this West Coast swing - if nothing changes, he should be sent down after that.

So sorry to hear of your situation. There is nothing to compare to that decision. Hope you have a strong support group outside of this forum. We all care, but you need real shoulders to lean on and arms to hold you. Grief is a bitch, but it does get better if you have others to share it with.

Palat led the team with 5 sog's tonight. Scored the goal obviously as well. On ice numbers for that line were excellent.

Having Palat find his game on that line, not only gets him going but it allows Keefe to slide others down the lineup.

Theoretically that line makes sense with Palat providing the dirty work play for Hughes and Bratt, but it's good to see it actually come together.
Palat should be playing on a line with two offensively-skilled players that don't like to put effort on D. So Hughes and Bratt are a good match. Playing him with 4th liners is a waste, he doesn't really create offense on his own.
