Just had to play a game like this in the middle of the night, eh boys?!

But seriously, I'll take it; they finally got a couple of days between games, they came out flying, and multiple lines appear to be clicking since some changes were made. Now keep doing it!

that was worth staying up for. the last two games basically erase how down i was on the team after the tampa through islander games. guess a couple or practices did help because they dominated from the start and completely shut down a good canucks team. better than any game last season. markstrom was barely even tested

Did we actually look as good as the box score would indicate or was Van THAT bad?
we made them look that bad. it was as dominating performance as they’ve given in a long time. let’s keep it up!

We did look commmanding. That was a shellacking. Nico was instrumental in the first 3 goals. Mercer had tenacity.

4th line also ran amok (Tatar dowling bas) generated o pressure as well.

3rd line had their go, Haula fought Garland and got some nice shots in...

Palat had his best game of the season so far (good palat showing).

Special teams excellent (SHG and earlier a great kill on a double minor)

Jack and PP mercent. Meier quietly picking up a goal.

If you remember an isles devils game, 2 seasons ago on the road, this felt like that dominance (to me at least)

He’ll be there soon. It’s good for him to practice with the team for a bit. Utica seems like an absolute tire fire.
Utica has the worst forward group in the AHL. I might be exaggerating but there's a good chance I'm not. It's an organizational flaw where they haven't even attempted to get the AHL club better. There's NOTHING there outside of Casey, potentially Nemec, and then fringe guys like Villen. There are no forwards at all.

Unfortunately, I just pulled the plug on my mom this morning. Between being up all night with her and taking small naps all day between dealing with funeral arrangements, my sleep pattern is all screwed up, so I should be good to go for the full game tonight. I'm hoping to get a nice win to pick up spirits.
I'm so sorry man. Just read this. Condolences too you and your family. I'm going to call my Mom right now.

Sure, but he needs to play. Ahl is better than the press box for him
Without totally understanding your credentials, I'm going to put my vote into the "Keefe/Fitz know what they're doing" camp.

I'm sure there is a lot of benefit practicing with the big club, being around the big club, and watching the big club play from a bird's eye view. It's not like he's being told to stay home and play video games lol.

Fitz literally said he made a mistake when he did this with Holtz…. It hasn’t been too long yet but he can’t let this drag on

I think it’s situational.

In this case it’s a brand new coach, Devils are on a road trip far from their minor league team, some guys are coming off injuries, and it hasn’t been too long yet. So for me, this situation isn’t a problem yet.

Now if they were playing a normal northeast stretch of schedule, nobody was hurt or coming off injury, there was no rotation planned, and this was the coaches 2nd or more year, then I’d be starting to already get antsy that Nemec wasn’t playing somewhere.

In this situation I’m ok with what they’re doing but I will likely be a little perplexed if he still hasn’t played by the 9th or 10th.

Foote with 6 points in 6 games.

But yeah. Team is 0-7. 13 gf's vs 29 ga's.

So we had a practice and then played well? Hmmmmm
Who'd have guessed that getting healthy (except Lazar obviously) and having players get more reps together in the new system would result in them looking more cohesive?

Obviously they need to keep it going and not backslide, but they're starting to look more like the team we were hoping for after the changes this summer.
