I don't care about the points alone, Suzuki has been pretty dismal to me this season. Not engaged to the extent he was last season. He was driving play last year.

I'm not talking about points, every guy has off games and cold streaks, it's normal. He's burned out. There's zero depth and its caught up to this team. Shut down the 1st line and it is game over.

Yea. Re-sign him 7mx8 he almost scored on a one timer

I'm looking forward to seeing him play with players of his own skill level. Hopefully that will happen when Demidov comes over.

But even if he plays well he only gets signed if the cap hit is commensurate with both his offensive amd defensive levels of play.

Montreal should have had at least 1 goal in that period. They're missing too many great chances. So frustrating.

Again, Monty not being aggressive around his net. There's no reason for him to fall back on that 2nd goal & lose his feet.

He needed to get on that puck. He's so soft defending his net.

And most of the shots they took miss the net

Mailloux has a looooong way to go. Not impressed besides his wrist shot from the back end.
He cannot process the game at this level. He might find a niche as a PP triggerman, but I don’t see a player that you want out there 5v5. He’s another Deangelo.

I say we move Dach and Roy for a mid 20 #2C, and Struble and a 1st for a towering top 4 reliable RH defenseman.

If Slaf isn't using his body and being physical he doesn't offer much with Caufield as his opposite winger. There's no consistent board presence from him, he does 1 shift and creates a chance. you think he's about to be physical and open up space for caufield but he's floating the next three shifts. I'm not sure what the team does but it's a hot mess right now. Beck looks like a better forward than half our line up.

It's not lack of surrounding skill level hampering Laine right now. His problems are directly his own. He's still not right from not playing hockey for over a year and the nasty injury to his knee. He's just not playing well period.

Can someone logically explain to me why Laine plays in front of the net and Evans and Arma shoot? Also why, when he can pass to him, Evans shoots himself?

Dvorak and Gallagher are weak.

If I had to count the number of times Anderson wins the puck for Dach and Newhook, I can't do anything else.

Savard is New Jersey's lethal weapon.

That's why they should move him down to the second line put 92 on there for a couple of games after this break
Can it really hurt?

Team is creating chances, but being snake bite and just not being that skilled/confident is why the Habs are down 2-0
It's sad that when we have a player with an open net to shoot at I don't even get excited. There's like 3 guys on the team I'd trust to hit an empty net from 10 feet out, with the rest I know for a fact that the puck's going a few feet wide lol.

He's just not good, that's the reason.

Also, Montreal needs to trade Dvorak, and come back after the 4 Nations with Beck as 2nd line center & try Dach as 3rd line.

Beck's speed & physical play I think would be more helpful for Laine/Newhook.

Laine-Beck-Newhook
Anderson-Dach-Gallagher
Heineman-Evans-Armia

Heineman will be ready.

Trade and get a D. Mailloux is playing much better than he did in November, but I'd still add another D.

All I want to see is a successful PP with Laine time but in a reversed way. Make the box pay for the covering and space that you can make just by making use of the extra space and half a second that they have to look over their shoulder for the actual cannon that is Laine. Capitualize on that, please. And for the last sentence I’ll say first of all, ENTRY THE ZONE WITH POSSESSION, please.
